House Tour- Bathroom

On with the house tour…

The next room in our home I am going to show you is the boy’s bathroom.

This bathroom is set right in between the boy’s room.

The previous owner wallpapered every bathroom in our home with toile patterns.

Jared does not like it at all.

I’m torn.

I like it, but it wouldn’t have been my first choice if I were to wallpaper.

I would want something more subtle and modern.

Everyone who sees it either loves it or hates it.

Most men hate it and most women love it.

Before we even moved in Jared had half of the wallpaper in the master bath ripped down.

He hated it that bad.

That project has now taken a back seat to other projects and we are still living in a half torn down wallpaper room.

Someday we will get it done, I hope.

Since we are ripping down the wallpaper in every bathroom I talked Jared into letting me keep it in the boy’s bathroom.

I think he agreed only because taking down wallpaper is a pain in the butt.

I think the wallpaper is kind of fun and it will work for now.

Down the road I might change it.

Here is what it looked like before we moved in:

It hasn’t changed much since we have moved in, but here is what I have done with it:

Jared repainted the white cabinets.

The rest has pretty much stayed the same besides a few decor items.

I made these cute signs in photoshop to hang above the towel rack.

I found this sign at Hobby Lobby and fell in love.

Plus there is a picture of people rowing their boat in the wallpaper.

Works perfectly :)

Here is a close up of the wallpaper:

It has kind of a storybook theme.

What do you think?

Love the wallpaper or hate it?

  1. It's busy... it would be better if you took it all down, psinted a solid color but left one or two pieces up and stuck a frame around it. - Jodi

  3. Because I have seen it in person, I would have to say I like it. It is one of those things that doesn't need to be taken down right away. Live for it, and put it at the bottom of the list if you do want it taken down. I think it's sweet.

  4. I love it. It would be something I might change later, but then again our kids' bathroom isn't decorated at all. :) Bathrooms aren't a priority in my house... they aren't even on the list. Go with your gut. Whatever you do is awesome. I think the touches you put in are perfect and they will love it. You are so talented too! What can't you do in photoshop!? :)

  5. I like it. Not what you would automatically go for in a boys bathroom, but they are young and it is sweet. Totally something you can live with and come back to. I love toile and actually did bedding for my son's nursery in a green, buttercream & blue plaid silk with toile accents and a solid blue silk skirt. I LOVED it.....my husband thought it was "sweet" (AKA didn't want to make the pregnant lady mad :)
