Today’s giveaway is being hosted by one of my good friends, Brandie.
Brandie and I met when we were both in the same ward (church).
She is one of the sweetest, kindest people I have ever met.
She is all about serving.
And you will never meet a better mother.
She is so devoted to her children that I really look up to her.
She also has a sweet daughter named Ruby who is the cutest thing.
Here is what Brandie has to say:
About five years ago in Provo, while serving in the Relief Society Presidency, I met Kristin Warburton. She was the Enrichment counselor at the time and she was a wonderful example to me of charity, service and talents. We became friends and enjoyed serving the sisters in our ward and then both of us eventually moved. A few weeks before our Ruby was born, Kristin had a daughter who she also named Ruby. Ruby June only lived 15 days and returned to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Kristin honors Ruby every year by doing 15 days of Ruby Giveaways. This year, Ruby would be two years old. Her story has really touched my life because of my own little Ruby. Her Ruby has taught me to treasure every day I have with my own children. Her Ruby inspires me to be the best mommy I can be and to hold, kiss, hug and love the things that matter most to us daily. As a gift to Ruby June, I am giving away something red. It is my prayer that we give our children time, because time is what God gave us to give to them, and Love is really spelled T.I.M.E. Thank you to all who participate!
Brandie is giving away a $15 gift card to Cold Stone Creamery.
She chose this because her little Ruby LOVES ice cream.
Who doesn’t love ice cream?
To enter please leave a comment with one of your favorite birthday traditions/celebrations.
Winner will be announced October 30th.
Thanks again Brandie!
Our favorite birthday tradition is letting he birthday boy/girl choose where we go to dinner. I've also started a tradition wherei fill my daughters room up with balloons during the night so she wakes up to a room full of balloons on her birthday.

Birthdays are a big thing in my family, not so much my husbands, but he is learning. We make a birthday banner the night before and hang it so it can be viewed all day long. We also get to pick their favorite meal for dinner. Those are my two favorite traditions on birthdays.
ReplyDeleteWith both of my kids, I have started birthday journal that records how they grow along with pictures and a birthday interview (when they are old enough to be interviewed.) Its something I hope to do until they are 18 and then pass it on to them.
ReplyDeleteOur Birthday Tradition was absolutely fun! Brandie Sanders is my daughter and she was born October 28th so every year we held a Huge Halloween/Birthday celebration and to this day she remembers it with love and joy. We decorated the back yard all Halloween and it was so much fun!! Now she is grown having her own childrens birthdays and she does an amazing job!! I am sure her traditions will carry on to her children as well with love and joy. I love you Brandie Sanders!! And May God Bless the Warburton Family.
ReplyDeleteWe do a birthday interview each year and record their answers word for word. I love to look back at their answers and smile (or laugh really, really hard!)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea! Everyone loves ice cream. :) Our favorite birthday traditions are making a favorite meal and cake and ice cream. To be honest, we don't have any really cool traditions. We totally should though. I know I love to make the person feel extra special on their day. I am sure Ruby feels the love from her birthday celebration and how special she is. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute family you have! It's nice to meet Kristin's friends and hear their sweet stories.
ReplyDeleteBirthday donuts are our favorite tradition!
ReplyDeleteMy family has 3 different verses to "Happy Birthday" and I love that now my husband finds it odd if we don't sing them too!! Great tradition.

I can't think of any birthday traditions that we have, really, other than a special dinner. I hope I can make birthdays special for my kids. I gotta start thinking about what traditions I want to have with my own small family. Great giveaway! Thanks! ---BreighAn
ReplyDeleteWe let the birthday boy or girl choose what they want for dinner, sometimes it's a restaurant or just their favorite meal at home. We also let them choose a fun activity we get to do on their birthday with the whole family like bowling, nickel mania, lowes extreme sports. The kids think about and plan their special day months in advance!
ReplyDeleteMy husband is the Birthday KING! He loves birthdays. He calls all of our friends and extended family members on their birthday and serenades them. I like how much fun he makes each birthday.
ReplyDeleteOur birthday traditions with our kids are to have balloons blown up for when they wake up, a banner hung by the balloons, they get to pick their favorite meal/restaurant for dinner & then their favorite dessert. My kids are not cake/cupcake fans, so it's fun to see what they'll choose for their dessert :)

ReplyDeleteI love that her daughter is Ruby as well!
ReplyDeletewe started going to this mexican restaurant and then for froyo. my kids love it and now think it's the best thing to do on our bdays. I love that they love it.
My fav birthday tradition is decorating doors! our kids think it is so fun to wake up to birthday decorations and end up leaving them up for weeks!
ReplyDeleteMy fav b-day tradition is having the kids pick all three meals, including a mama and me lunch. I pick them up from school and just the two of us go out to eat somewhere. Dawn Young
ReplyDeleteI love the annual birthday dinners. We let our kiddos pick their favorite restaurant to eat at. It gives us a good get away. And the kids feel so special. I love it!
ReplyDeleteWe try to celebrate birthdays all week long around here. It makes it more fun! - chelsea rowley
ReplyDeleteOne tradition we have with our kids is we let them stay up past bedtime on their birthday. They can play with their new things without having to share with their siblings, and they get to spend some time with just mom and dad. It's a fun way to end a special day!
ReplyDeleteOne our favorite birthday celebrations is having the dinner of your choice on your birthday. Usually your favorite or something we don't have very often. We always do cake and ice cream too, but it is always fun when you get to choose dinner too! -Robyn Turner
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite traditions is picking somewhere special to eat!
ReplyDeleteCasey
Every birthday, I make a homemade cake for my kids. A store bought one will not do! They get to pick the theme of their cake, and it's one of the highlights of their day (and mine!).

I bet Ruby June loves icecream too. Coldstone makes some good icecream. I can see just how blessed Kristin has been with good friends.
ReplyDeleteSince having children my FAVORITE tradition that my husband started was to take the day off of work for whomever's birthday it is. It's so nice to have him there for that special day!
ReplyDeleteWe always let the kids stay up late the night before a birthday and decorate for the persons Bday. They love surprising them.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a specific tradition I love, but growing up birthdays were a huge deal in our house and I appreciate that so much. I try very hard to make them a huge deal in our home to celebrate each person on their special day. Cassie Smith
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite traditions growing up was the birthday person got to decide how they wanted the birthday cake to be decorated. No matter how crazy or complicated my mom always found a way to do it!
