Today’s giveaway is hosted by my friend, Ashley.
Ashley and I went to the same high school.
She is an AMAZING photographer and runs her own business.
Check out her photography website: http://ashleytaylorphotography.com/blog/
She knows what she is doing with the camera.
Ashley has faced a lot of trails these past few years and so when she offered to host one of the giveaways I was blown away with her generosity.
She is a person of grace, faith, and courage.
Her and her family have had to overcome quite the obstacles and I am amazed at her strength.
Here is what she has to say:
Today is my day for my friend Kristin’s giveaway. I am completely honored to be apart of this. Kristin and I went to school together. She was a year older than me. I knew of her in High school but i didn't know her well. I heard of her story and my heart ached for her. At about the same time of Ruby’s passing I had a new baby girl myself. She was my first girl. I could not help but put myself in her shoes and try to feel the heartache of what it must have been like to say goodbye to my baby. I wanted to run to Kristin and hug her. I wanted to do SOMETHING! I remember telling my friend that I wanted to come to her and take some pictures for her. Something! I knew I was too far away. But I have always felt like I wanted to do something to help. And over the years I have felt like I have gained a new beautiful, kind, dear friend. Thanks Kristin! Throughout my trials in life others have came to me asking what they can do to help. Often times the ones going through the hard times don't know what to tell them. That is why I am so grateful to be a part of this. Remembering this sweet girl and continuing with service is what I can do. It is what we can all do. Little Ruby was so lucky to be born into this wonderful family. She will live on in the hearts of others.
Today I am giving away some little Ruby red squeaky shoes. At this time I think of what Ruby would look like today . I picture her about my daughters height but with blonde, wispy beautiful hair. I could picture her wearing these shoes bouncing around. I love these for my little girl. They are so comfy and you can definitely take out the squeaky things. ( I do, I would go mad if I didn't) I got size 7 ( the biggest size these shoes go up to) but I have talked to the place that I got them and they said they can be exchanged for a different size if needed as long it is before the first of November. So if you win and want a different size let me know and either I can or you can exchange them. They are so cute!! I got them from Sophie’s Chic Boutique in Salem. I love their stuff! Anyways, thanks for allowing me the opportunity to do this Kristin, I think you are beautiful inside and out!!
Aren’t these so cute?
Luke loves the squeaky shoes because they are so comfortable.
We have gone through so many pairs.
I definitely take out the squeakers like Ashley mentioned!
I can only imagine what Ruby would look like wearing these adorable shoes to match her name.
They are perfect.
To enter this giveaway leave a comment with what photography/photos mean to you.
I know I treasure each and every picture I have with Ruby and it helps me remember every single day I had with her.
Winner will be announce on October 30th.
Good luck and thanks again Ashley!
Darling shoes! Such a great giveaway gift! Thanks Ashley for your generosity!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'm not a "photographer", I love taking pictures of my family. You forget about all those small details and funny things your kids do until you flip back through old albums and see how much they have changed. Our family photographs are some of my most prized possessions! - Chelsea R.
ReplyDeleteLove those shoes! Photography means to me memories and to remember the past. Each photo has a story. Kristen probably feels so much closer with those photos of ruby.

Photos help me capture the moments of our families life. They may not remember all the crazy, awesome things we've done...but I'll have pictures to prove it!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are making me both sad.. and happy... it seems you have both been through so real stuff and your happiness is encouraging. Photography is a huge part of life... Ashley has even done some photos for me and she is AMAZING!! My one and only granddaughter lives in another state and I look forward to seeing her grow through photos each day!! My heart breaks because I miss her so much but photos are the next best thing and without them I would be devastated :) Those shoes are adorable and your stories are heart warming!
ReplyDeleteLove these shoes...and I love Ashley and her photography. She is one amazing woman! I love flipping through old photos and remembering things that I had forgotten about or reliving moments that passed by too quickly. I probably take way too many pictures, but I don't care :)

How adorable are these shoes!!! I love photography, I often wish I was better at taking pictures so I could take others and capture important moments in not only my life but others as well! I love looking at pictures and the memories that were captured. Although I don't have a girl who will wear these shoesI hope to someday!
ReplyDeleteThose are so cute! I love squeakers too... for the first few days. :) I love photography because it captures so many wonderful moments. As time moves on, we can forget the details of things and pictures bring those back. I was looking at pictures of Brady and comparing them to Brynn and came across his 6 month pictures. I couldn't even remember him like that! It was a tender moment. I'm so glad we have cameras and can capture all these moments.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great friend you have been to think of Kristen during her trials. It's kind of weird how we lose touch with someone to later find out their stories and trials. I'm thankful for photos and how they remind us of the memories we once shared with someone. I absolutely love those shoes. I actually have a little girl named Ruby who will be two on November 2nd. She ADORES shoes. Everywhere we go that has shoes, she must try them on. She is a size 5 right now so they would be perfect for her. LOL. I am thankful that my Ruby reminds me everyday that the time we have together is sacred and I treasure the time I have with my kids...... and Ruby June inspires us.
ReplyDeleteAdorable shoes! I think that photos are priceless. I'm currently working on a wall of photos of our family's ancestors for our new home. I realized as I am working on gathering these photos how precious they are as they tell of our past in only a way photos can. Its nice to be able to "introduce" my kids to those who have gone before them. And I got just a glimpse of how you must feel, Kristen, in regards to your photos of Ruby. I'm sure they are priceless to you.
ReplyDeletePhotos mean the world to me!!! I'm obsessed with taking pics of my kids! A picture is worth a million dollars to me!
ReplyDeletePictures help me remember the memories that my mommy brain has forgotten. Pictures help me remember all those times that I said "I never want to forget this." Love to look back at how small my babies once were. Lori Novero
ReplyDeleteI love going picture crazy! They help me remember so many things that I will easily forget. I have a few thousand pictures of my daughter since she was born and she's only 23 months. :) Pictures are amazing keepsakes.
ReplyDeletePictures mean so much to me. I love being able to be taken back instantly to the time the picture was taken and the memories and feelings felt at that moment.

I haven't been great at taking pictures, really, ever in my life. I rarely think to bring my camera with me, and then when I do take pictures, I don't do much with them (I'm SO over traditional scrapbooking and haven't gotten super into digital scrapbooking). Since having a baby six months ago, I've been trying to be better about taking pictures. :) I come from a long line of compulsive picture taking addicts (mom and grandma!), so thankfully I have a bazillion pictures of important events and day-to-day happenings from my life. So what I'm saying is...I don't know what I'm saying...I got on a tangent...what was the question? ;) Photos are great! I'm amazed by talented photographers. ---BreighAn
ReplyDeleteLove the shoes!!! Pictures are so fun to look at! I am so glad for the pictures I have of my father that passed away just days before Ruby!!
ReplyDeleteI love pictures! I am not the best at documenting events in life so taking pictures is a simple way to keep the memories alive!
ReplyDeletePictures are worth everything to me. especially ones of people passed, it helps keep memories alive.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I don't take as many pictures as I should, photography to me is life. It's the memories, good and bad of what my life was, is and has become. Photography reminds me enjoy the little moments because every moment can be made into a reason to smile.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your story.
Those shoes are adorable! I probably take more pictures than necessary and in fact I get grief from a few family members about my propensity to always have a camera or be taking a picture. But, I guess I have a fear of not being able to remember everything the way I want to so I try to capture as many moments as I can.
ReplyDeleteCute shoes. Love them. I am excited to go look at your photography page.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the shoes!!! Why do all the great photographers live in Utah?! I love photography. In fact, I just went back home to Maryland for 11 days and took almost 400 pictures! Photographs are my story, my family's story. I think I say more in my photo albums than I've ever written in my journal. I pray that they'll be a lasting legacy for my children, grandchildren, and so on.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are adorable and my daughter wears a size 7!! After losing my daughter, Ruby, the few pictures we have are what we are able to show our other daughter who was only 22 months when she was born. She wont have the memories but we will always have the pictures. This blog has inspired me to keep my own Ruby's memory alive by acts of service. I love it!
