We have one more giveaway to offer since today is Ruby’s Angel Day.
Today’s bonus giveaway is hosted by my lifelong friend, Amber.
We have known each other a long time and have been through so much together.
No matter where life takes us we are always there for each other, usually making each other laugh.
Here is what she has to say:
I am so excited to participate in the 15 Days of Ruby Giveaways. I can't think of a better way to honor and remember such a sweet angel.
Kristin and I have been friends since elementary school. We have had many laughs and many tears together. When Ruby passed away I was 8 1/2 months pregnant with my little boy Eli. At Ruby’s funeral Kristin was the one who brought me comfort. Not the other way around. Through all Kristin has been through she has always been so positive and loving. I have and always will admire her for this. I never met Ruby in person but I am thankful to have known of her and learned about her through my best friend’s eyes.
I am giving away a $25 Red Robin gift card.
To enter to win do something nice for someone today. Nothing big, just something simple to brighten another person’s day.
She has given away a gift every year that we have done this.
I can always count on her to help me out in anyway possible.
I’m so thankful for friends who are by are side all the time.
She’s the best!
Leave a comment saying you have done something nice for someone.
Winner will be chosen October 30th so hurry up!
Babysat for the neighbor while she went to the dr.

ReplyDeleteThere was a little girl at church today that seemed like she could use a little extra love, so I held her on my lap and just talked to her and gave her some love and attention. It seemed to brighten her up a little.
ReplyDeleteMy Yw class went on a scavenger food hunt this week, we were able to gather enough food for 3 families. Today my bishop have me the names of those 3 families in need. Tomorrow I'll be getting turkeys to give to those families with the good we collected. I will be delivering the food tomorrow evening anonymous!!! :-)

Been sitting on the bridge over Pirates of the Caribbean in Disneyland for over an hour while my kids and hubby are on rides just so they can have a nice view for Fantasmic. How's that for kindness, lol. I'd rather be on Pirates!!!
ReplyDeleteToday we made dinner for our in-laws so they could have a little break. I need these little reminders to do more good each day!
ReplyDeleteLast week our lesson in YW was on service, and today I taught about gratitude while my husband focused on charity. Therefore, I love that you are asking for simple acts of kindness! It reminds me of my favorite quote by Camilla Kimball, "Never suppress a generous thought." The story that goes along with it is awesome too. There is a young woman in our ward whose family has been struggling both financially and spiritually. Over the course of the past 4-5 months, we have taken her under our wing and we have witnessed a blossoming of the Spirit in her life. I struggled for weeks to know how I could help her family since food seemed sparse and she is diabetic. One day I heard this quote and immediately took a box of food over to their house. I have kept it up since and deliver a box about twice a month. I am currently planning a Thanksgiving dinner for them and can't wait to drop it by! I don't mention this for praise or a pat on the back, but rather as a reminder that those thoughts to do something good are indeed whisperings of the Spirit and we should "never suppress those generous thoughts!" I love that you love your Ruby so much and want to honor her through service!
ReplyDeleteOur neighbor's bike got run over by a car, and I found some free bikes and we made a little chop shop in our driveway taking parts from one bike and fixing another. With all the working parts we were able to make three bikes all better and usable again. We even taught our neighbor to ride without training wheels while her mom was taking classes at the community college. It's sure fun to watch her ride!

Red Robin, YUM! Today I turned into "that old woman" at the grocery store. Our check out girl ("girl" she was probably in her 20's!) at the grocery store was just so beautiful and after we checked out, I actually went back to tell her how pretty I thought she was. I'm sure she thought I was nuts, but who cares? Who doesn't like to her that they are pretty?? But, yeah, I'm sure she thinks I am that meddling, crazy lady with obvious boundary issues!
