Happy Angel Day!

Today is Ruby’s angel day.

The day she returned to heaven.

The day we had to let her go.

The was by far my hardest struggle while she was alive…knowing that I only had so much time with her.

Knowing that her situation was terminal and that each day her situation got worse.

Knowing that her time on earth was short.

Too short and yet trying to make the most of it while juggling a two year at home that wasn’t allowed in the NICU.

I wanted time to stand still yet it seemed to move faster than ever.

How grateful I am for those precious fifteen days those.

There are so many that didn’t get any time with their angels and my heart aches for them.

Over the last fifteen days there have been so many tender mercies (once again) that have happened.

So many sweet conversations that have taken place.

One in particular was listening to Luke talk to his friend on the drive to school.

She was asking when Ruby was going to come back to our house.

I didn’t say anything and listened as Luke told her that she’s not. She lives in heaven now because her brain wasn’t working but is still part of our family.

They talked back and forth about how when people die they are still our family and we can see them again.

Such innocent, honest testimonies about the plan of happiness.

These past fifteen days of having Ruby’s giveaways is such an uplifting experience.

I read every single comment and love all the service and charity done in Ruby’s honor.

THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING.

Even if I don’t know you, never met you or talked to you, thank you for being apart of this.

I wish I had something to give away to everyone that comments.

In honor of Ruby’s angel day we have one more bonus giveaway for you today.

Scroll day to the next post to enter.

Also enter any that you might have missed.

You only have a few more days before the winners will be randomly chosen.

Happiest of days to Ruby and all her angel friends!

***Also, I’m trying to decide if the 15 days of giveaways is something I want to continue next year or if it is time to retire it, please give me your thoughts/opinions either way!***

  1. I love that you choose to celebrate your daughter, but if the 15 days is difficult for you, you can always make a new twist, like 15 days of service, or 15 people you randomly choose to help, etc. Each person deals with these things in different ways, so whatever makes you happy is good enough! My mother in law lost a three month old to SIDS and we just make a cake on his birthday each year and get together as a family.

  3. Okay so this is my 3rd time typing this out on my phone. It keeps not posting.... so this is going to be super short compared to what I wrote before but I think your giveaway is inspiring and a testament to your strength and your testimony. I believe that Ruby and the Lord love this giveaway and the way you honor Ruby through it. You share the gospel and show people strength. This is something that tears people apart and ruins lives and you show that people can make it through and can be happy and serve. I could never think of a better way to celebrate Ruby and am always so impressed and inspired by it. It shows just how much you love her, the gospel and the Lord and it is such an amazing example to others. If the giveaway is too much, you could always limit the days to her age, i.e. 4 days next year since she'll be 4 :) but you always have a ton of donations and you know you can always count on me. I know I missed it this year but I will always want to donate. I love the way you celebrate and honor your daughter and I think she does too and I don't believe the Lord could be any happier.

Whether it is a giveaway or not, I have been touched and inspired to reach out to others and to cherish my little ones more. Thank you for sharing that with a complete stranger!

  10. I think this is a great thing that you are doing. Remembering Ruby by not only giving away great prizes, but also asking people to do acts of service and kindness in return. If you enjoy doing it and it helps you honor Ruby and remember those precious 15 days that she had here on earth, I think you should continue. :)

  13. I love the giveaways. I love donating. I love coming to your blog for those 15 days and reading more about her. Maybe you could add to it by listing something that Ruby taught you (us) for each of those 15 days and then a giveaway and entries corresponding to that attribute. I love it how you have it and wouldn't change a thing, but just suggesting if you want to do something different. I love these beautiful pictures and how they capture those memories. Hugs!
