Time Out

We got in around 9pm from PA and I went straight to bed, the next day my parents came into town to spend the weekend with us.

I am just barely feeling like I am back into my routine again.

We had a wonderful weekend with my parents though.

I invited my mom to come to Time Out for Women with me and it was exactly what I needed.

The conference had wonderful, uplifting speakers that shared messages that I needed to hear.

Here is a small snippet of what I wrote down that spoke to me (hopefully they will still make sense out of context):

* Find ways to be grateful for the smallest things

* When we are at our lowest, the Lord personalizes tender mercies specifically to us and our needs at the time we need them the most.

* “It’s this day, not you, that’s bound to go away.”

* Mothering isn’t about giving birth, it’s about developing a mother’s heart and loving unconditionally.

* God loves us just the way we are, but he also loves us enough to help us to be better and not leave us the way we are.

* Trust that sacrifice will lead to miracles

* 4 things we forget to remember: Listen carefully, look forward, laugh often, love deeply

* Emotions aren’t good or bad, they are information about what’s important to us. What you do with your emotions can be positive or negative.

* Recommit ourselves to do good.

It was a great weekend spent with my mom.

When we weren’t at the conference we were eating out, shopping, and hanging out.

We even got a small craft project work in to our schedule. It’s a Halloween one of course.

I get my love of Halloween from my mom. We have started to plan a Halloween costume party for this year and I can’t wait!

The last night they were here we ate at Lucille’s BBQ. We heard it was good and had to try it out.

Luke LOVED that his nanny and poppy were in town and couldn’t stop showing them all his toys.

They brought him presents of course. A new book and a pumpkin to decorate.

He was napping when they left and wasn’t too happy to wake up and find they were gone.

On the agenda this week:

1. Nothing

2. Nothing

3. Roasting marshmallows and hotdogs up the canyon near Mt. Charleston. I am craving fall weather!
