Tomorrow Luke and I are heading to York, PA to visit my sister and her family.
We are both really excited, especially Luke. He has talked about getting on a plane and visiting A (Andrea) for weeks now.
Andrea is his favorite Aunt (sorry Lindsay, but you know it’s true).
It’s funny how it has worked. My sister Lindsay’s little girl, London, is attached to me. Luke is attached to Andrea and Andrea’s little girl is attached to Lindsay.
We all are a second mommy to someone in the family.
This isn’t Luke’s first airplane ride, but I don’t think he remembers the other times.
Tomorrow is going to be a long day of travel for both of us.
I have packed movies, books, puzzles, activities, and snacks.
I feel prepared, but you never know what is going to happen.
Good thing it is only a temporary situation and I can just count down the hours if things start to get a little hairy.
I heard of giving out treat bags and earplugs to those around you as a nice gesture if your kid starts wailing, but hopefully Luke will be on his best behavior.
I have confidence in him that it will be a smooth ride.
I will try and stay caught up on our trip as I am out there.
Lots of exciting things planned.

For the record books:
Today I had a doctor’s appointment so I dropped Luke off at my friend’s house so he could play while I ran to my appointment.
I ended up being at my appointment for 3 hours, sitting and waiting, sitting and waiting.
That’s another story, but I didn’t think I would be gone that long and it was nap time by the time I left the appointment with still a half hour to drive home.
When I went to pick Luke up he was asleep on my friend’s couch.
Some of you are probably wondering what the big deal is, but Luke has NEVER fallen asleep in a random place. It has always been his bed or his car seat, period.
I was shocked and told her she was hired for good.
Luke also told me today, “Mom, watch where you going?” as I was driving and I turned around to look at him at a stop light.
Yes, sir!
Sounds like today was the big day! Hope it went well! Three hours is terrible! Is it like that everywhere in LV? I think we are totally pampered here with being in and out in 30 minutes. I can't believe he fell asleep, was he watching a movie or something? That is awesome!
ReplyDeleteHope the plane ride was smooth. Brigs was questionable a few times and our flight was only 1 and 1/2 hours. I am sure Luke will be on his best behavior! :)
