Weekly Ramblings

1. Yesterday Luke and I went to the Post Office. I feel like every time I go there I am in the Seinfeld Soup Nazi episode. Go here if you don’t know what I am talking about.  The postal workers are very grumpy. The line is ALWAYS long no matter when I go. Once I finally get to the counter I feel like I have to know exactly what I want or they are going to take away my package and say “NO MAIL FOR YOU!” And heaven forbid I actually have to ask a question…

2. I think I am going to start collecting “Ruby” books. We have checked out a couple children’s book from the library with characters named Ruby and they are so cute. If you come across one that you think I need shoot me a message.

3. I just received my energy bill and it is the highest I have ever paid for an utility bill. I guess that is what I get for living in hell and wanting to stay cool.

4.  I have been scrapbooking like a madwoman lately. I am halfway done with Luke’s baby book. I am hoping to have it done by the time he moves out of the house. But just look at my chubby baby boy!

5. I am almost done with Stephanie Nielson’s Heaven is Here book. It’s been pretty good. I have a long list of books on hold at the library that I want to get through. I go in spurts with my motivation to read though.

6. I love treats, fortunately, there are certain ones that I can usually refrain from. The one treat that I can’t stay away from is homemade Rice Crispy Treats. If I make a batch the whole pan will be eaten by me. No sarcasm in that statement either.

7. Does anyone have a cure for spider veins? Please, I am begging.

8. I cannot wait for the new Discovery Museum to open here. This is one of Luke’s favorite places to go, but I am ready to see what the new building is going to offer. Just for fun here are some pictures of Luke at the museum:

9. I read about the devastating event in Colorado last night. I was sick to my stomach while reading it. My heart goes out to all the family and friends that lost loved ones.

10. Today at the library I saw a 2 year old reading the book titles to his mom. I was amazed and had to ask what she is doing to get him to read so young. She said she used the “Your Baby Can Read”videos. I knew I should have ordered those when I saw the infomercial every night at 3am while feeding Luke as a newborn.

11. I got one of those automatic air fresheners. It sits by my computer and every time it sprays it scares the daylights out of me.

12. To lighten the mood I will include some funny e-cards to get your weekend started.

This is Jared:

  3. I, too, laughed out loud when reading about the post office. Amen to that. You described it perfectly.

Rice Krispie Treats are my favorite, too.

I am so curious about that Your Baby Can Read program. Very intriguing.

The bathroom in the office I used to work at had one of those air fresheners. Freaked my freak every time. Ellen might as well have been hiding in the stall! :)

  4. Oh man. I'm guilty on the tupperware thing. And probably the restaurant thing, too. How much was your electric bill? Ours was just a few bucks shy of $200. Bleh.

  6. You are too funny. Love the soup Nazi episode!

Colorado tragedy has been horrible, living here I see and hear things that are just devastating (especially hard when my husband gets more in-depth information because of his job) It has made it very hard for me. I don't want anyone to ever feel the loss of a loved one, especially a mother and father to lose their child :(

The Ruby book idea is AMAZING, I just might steal that idea...although, I doubt there are any children books with the name Beckett!
