Pioneer Day, Fondue, and compliments

Since we live in Nevada we don’t get the 24th of July off like we are use to.

Boo.

However, our stake put together a big pioneer celebration this past Saturday for us to attend.

It wasn’t Spanish Fork Fiesta Days, but Luke still had a lot of fun.

Me, on the other hand, forgot (for a split second) that is was going to be 110 degrees out.

They started the day off with a parade and then held a pancake breakfast.

Booths were set up everywhere in the park along with bounce houses for the kids.

I lasted until about 11am and then needed air conditioning.

We ended our Saturday swimming with our good friends, the Lainharts & Shoemakers, and playing games.

I did miss the Rodeo and fiesta day’s parade, but maybe next year.

Last night was the Bachelorette Season Finale so of course I had to throw a party for all my Bachelorette-watching friends.

I made chocolate & caramel fondue with all sorts of goodies to dip in it.

We all had a good time and it might become tradition.

Unfortunately, no pictures were taken of the entire night.

But I will leave you with this one (she is going to kill me):

This is my friend Kiley who went to Homecoming with Jef, the guy who “won” Bachelorette.

A couple other things to mention this week:

I just booked my flight to Pennsylvania to visit my sister in September.

I am so excited, I have never been to the East coast.

Sad, I know!

Just pray that I survive the flight with Luke.

I have spent most my days this last week on the phone trying to find renters for one of our rental properties in Utah.

Note to self: NEVER have rental properties in a different state then the one you live in.

Good news is we have had a lot of interest, but since I am not in Utah it has made the process difficult.

Hopefully it will all work out for everyone (especially me, because I need my sanity).

Luke loves it when I wear a dress or a skirt.

He will come running into my bathroom to tell me something and stop what he is saying when he sees me in a dress.

He will say: Mom, pretty!! Spin around!

He makes me spin around several times before he is content.

I just love him!
