The rest of our day

We spent the rest of our 4th of July holiday in Boulder City.

The weather had finally cleared up and we thought we should seek out some festivities.

Boulder City holds their Damoree festival at a huge park.

I went there expecting it to be like Utah town celebrations.

Craft booths, homemade goodies, Texas twister drinks, meat on a stick, talent shows, beauty queens…

They only had 5 food booths to choose from and nothing else, a little disappointing.

Apparently we didn’t get the memo that it was a bring your own food event (and clothing optional).

We settled on greasy chicken fingers and fries.

Luckily I did pack snacks.

The park was packed with canopies, BBQ grills, camping chairs, and all sorts of interesting people.

We stood in an hour long line so that Luke could go potty. (This is one of those times I wish he still wore a diaper)

After we ate enough grease to last us the night we found a nice quiet spot on the grass away from most of the crowd.

Luke ran around and we did a few of our own fireworks while waiting for the real ones to start.

Luke is at such a fun age to really start creating memories and traditions with him.

Now if only I had a bouncing 9 month little girl on my lap the day would have been perfect.

  1. Love the cup idea. That is great. What a difference in parties huh? I felt the same way last night as I sat by my neighbor who has a little boy 1 week older than P.
