Another Pee Story

Funny Encouragement Ecard: Be kind to everyone you meet; You never know if they have a toddler at home.

My day went from good to bad in 0.2 seconds.

Swimming lessons were finished.

Gymboree class complete.

We were now at the library finding some movies and books to take with us on our drive to Utah.

We had been there about ten minutes when Luke looks at me and grabs his pants.

I knew he had to go to the bathroom, but before I could even ask he starts peeing right on the floor of the library.

I scooped him up and started running to the bathroom while trying to get him to hold it.

Pee was dripping everywhere and as I was running and looking down at Luke I ran right into… well, I don’t even know what it was I was so disoriented.

I think it was a big metal box that holds a fire extinguisher that was hooked to a column, but really I have no idea.

It did, however, make such a loud noise that if you weren’t already staring at me from the pee episode, you most certainly were now.

I made it to the bathroom to realize we were both soaked in pee and my head wasn’t cracked open and bleeding like I thought it was.

I didn’t even want to come out of the bathroom and face the trail of pee we had left behind.

Where do I even start with this mess?

When I decided I could finally face reality I noticed it looked like the big puddle had already been cleaned up.

THANK YOU to the mom who obviously has been in the same boat and wanted to spare me more embarrassment.

I hurried and checked out my books so I could get outta there. Just as I was leaving a lady came up to me to give me my sunglasses.

They must have went flying off my head when I cracked my skull on the stationary object.

Tears started to flow once I reached my car.  Maybe it was because my head was literally throbbing, or maybe it was because I don’t know what to do with Luke some days, but the tears probably came because I was utterly humiliated.

It’s a good thing we will be in Utah for awhile because I will need some time to bring myself to go back there again.

When we got home I hosed both of us off and then had a really long talk with Luke.

The next thing we did is take down his beloved train table.

I thought he would throw a fit but he helped me take it down without any tears.

I was more sad then he was, this table keeps him pretty entertained.

However, I feel he needs to earn it back.

I have been fighting him the last few weeks with the potty.

Hopefully it won’t be gone for long.

Hopefully my pride will come back soon too.

  2. lovely! if it makes you feel better jocelyn threw up all over the place at the library once. a kind lady also cleaned it all up for me by the time i came back from the bathroom after cleaning up joss and myself. the joys of motherhood!
ps our pee story happened in the slide play structure in McD's. joss was unsure which slide her accident happened in - she could only tell me it was green. now every time we pass the mcd's, she says "Remember when I peed in the green slide?" yes, i remember!

  5. We ALL have days like that and anyone who claims otherwise is a dirty, rotten liar. Seriously. I took my son to a play area that we go to all them time and about 45 seconds after we got there, he totally had an accident. It just happens. Tantrums happen. Tough days happen. All I think of when my 3 year old is being, well, 3, is he's 3!!! 3 happens!!

You are doing great job! Keep your head up and I'm sure you will be helping another mom out before you know it. You did great and don't be afraid of going back!

  6. Ouch!!! My head is throbbing just thinking about it! You're awesome to take it down. Just when I think Ryan has it down, he's been regressing. I get SO mad. You are doing so well it sounds like. I hope Luke is better than Ryan and gets it down. These boys...

  10. It is never glamourous to be a mom. I have had so many of those moments. You learn to get over them, but you always think about them and wonder what people think of you.
