One of the tender mercies we saw after having Ruby is how many people had gone through a similar experience.
They either lost a child at birth or shortly after.
We were blessed to receive a lot of support and empathy from these families.
Some families we have met in person, some contacted us through email, blog, or facebook, and some we heard about through the news.
With so many families in similar situations and the love and service we received because of Ruby we want to give back.
We would like to set up a foundation in Ruby’s name to help and serve those who lose children too soon.
We don’t have all the details sorted out and it is going to take some time to get it up and running, but we will keep you posted.
However, we can always try to serve and show love everyday even without a foundation.
Tomorrow is Ruby’s one month birthday.
Will you join me and my sister in wearing red tomorrow?
By wearing red it will be a reminder to do something kind.
To show a little extra love to those around us.
I have already received a little extra love today. My sister’s friend, Michelle, made this picture for me.
Isn’t it beautiful? It made my day.
She lost a baby four years ago. This picture means a lot that she would think of me even though we have never met.
I received this quote in my email today:
God knows that some of the greatest souls who have ever lived are those who will never appear in the chronicles of history. They are the blessed, humble souls who emulate the Savior’s example and spend the days of their lives doing good. –President Uchtdorf
I hope I can spend the days of my life doing good.
Ruby is helping me remember to do that.
