House Tour: Garden & Front Door

We have been working on both of these projects for the past couple weeks and we are finally finished so it is time to share.

First, the front door.

I really wanted to paint the door for a couple reasons.

I love painted doors.

I think it is just a fun way to add color to your home.

Our door was also in dyer need of some TLC. It was all scuffed up and the paint was pealing.

I chose a green color in hopes that it would brighten up the door since it sits back shaded from the rest of the house.

I’m still trying to get use to the color.  I’m not sure it goes with the color of the house, but it is growing on me.

I am still debating whether an eggplant color would look better with the stone.

However, it is done and it will stay this way for awhile.

Just a boring tan color.

Here is the after: (keep in mind it was hard to get a true to color picture of the green)

I added our house numbers with my Silhouette.

I also added a no soliciting sign because they drive me crazy. I’m not confident this will keep them away.

So there ya have it.

Keep the green or (eventually) try the eggplant color to match the dark color in the stone?

Another huge project that has recently been completed is our garden.

I can’t take any credit for this because it was all Jared.

He worked so hard to get this done.

He built the boxes, hauled in all the dirt and gravel and planted the vegetables/fruit as well.

It looks awesome.

It was looking pretty bad. The previous owners hadn’t done anything in this area so Jared had a lot of work to do.

Pretty amazing, huh?!

It’s like he could do this professionally it looks so good.

I’m super excited to see what starts to grow.

Yay for summer and gardens!
