We had a really busy October and I haven’t documented any of it, so here goes:
Hang with me, it is going to be long.
The first part of October we left for a trip to Vegas.
{This one travelled like a champ}
Jared had work to do and I had friends to see.
We stayed in a hotel from Monday until Saturday and can I just vent for just a minute?
Why is it that hotels don’t have the Disney channel?
Don’t they know a very routine 3 year old boy needs his morning cartoon?
Why do they only have cartoon network that plays Spongebob Squarepants 24/7?
I refuse to let Luke watch that.
It was a long week.
Ok, I’m done with my rant.
No I’m not, one more thing.
Why can’t all hotels have continental breakfast along with food options in the hotel that are fast and convenient?
It is HUGE pain to haul 2 kids out of the hotel for EVERY meal of EVERY day we were there.
Not to mention, we were right by the strip so kid friendly, drive-thru places were pretty much non-existent.
I may or may not have hit my breaking point on Thursday.
I have said it before, but it truly isn’t a vacation with kids involved.
It is just a trip that requires a lot of work.
Hopefully, it will get easier as they get older.
Okay, now I’m done.
I told you it was going to be a long post.
Anyway, while we were there we hung out with our long lost friends pretty much the whole time.
Some of our kids met for the first time.
{It is nearly impossible to take a picture of a lot of kids, this picture cracks me up}
We went to the park, hung out and caught up on life and shows, and even had a little Halloween get together.
I took Luke to the new Children’s Museum:
It was a really cool place that I wish would have been built when we lived there.
We celebrated Ruby’s birthday. More on that here.
And we stopped by Luke’s favorite place, Bass Pro Shop.
We left straight from Vegas and headed to Marysvale to spend time with Jared’s family.
It was the annual camping/4-wheeling/fall break trip.
We stayed in a little cabin over the weekend and enjoyed a little off-roading.
To say that I was ready to be home after a week of being away was an understatement.
However, I decided to leave the following weekend and head to Logan for a girl’s weekend with my mom and sisters.
We stayed at my sister, Andrea’s, new house. Which is absolutely gorgeous.
Logan is absolutely gorgeous in the fall as well. So many colors.
We had a great time hanging out, shopping, eating, and making crafts.
I didn’t see Luke the entire weekend.
He was playing with his cousins the whole time.
It was wonderful.
We did take the kids to a trampoline/jumping place to let them get out their energy.
It was a great trip and I can’t wait to go back.
Once we were back in town for good, Jared and I took Luke to Cornbelly’s for some fall fun.
He had a great time and there was so much to do that we didn’t get through it all.
We left Hank with my mom so we could spend some extra time with Luke.
On October 15th we honored Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day by lighting candles at 7pm to remember those that we have lost.
We also celebrated my grandpa’s angel day, along with Ruby’s angel day. More on that here.
Jared made Luke a homemade soccer net to practice with.
Luke is actually really good at soccer. He loves to run and is good at kicking the ball.
He must get his skills from his mama.
I took Luke to the Stringtown Nightmare Express train ride.
This boy loves trains so it was obviously a hit.
My mom and I attended Witches Night Out at Gardner Village.
{Yes, those are my mom’s real teeth ;)}
I have been putting the finishing touches on Hank’s room, including this adorable print I found.
We have found time to enjoy our new home including our fireplace:
We also found time to cuddle and get back into our routine of watching morning cartoons.
I have been going regularly to the chiropractor about my bell’s palsy.
I am going on 5 months now, but since seeing him he has got my eye blinking.
It doesn’t blink regularly, but it is twitching and blinking when I concentrate.
I no longer have to use eye ointment and can finally wear makeup.
I have seen MAJOR improvement and I am so glad I went to see him.
Luke had his preschool Halloween program and party.
{His teachers}
He was on cloud nine having me and Jared there.
Here are a couple adorable videos of him singing his heart out.
During the month of October we fought being sick (still are fighting).
We have battled colds, croup, and ear infections.
Hank just wanted to be held most of the time.
Even though he has been sick most of the month he is still always happy.
He is 4 months old today and I can’t believe where the time has gone.
It feels like it should only be 4 weeks.
I am totally smitten by this chubby little guy.
Also, 2 years ago on this day was Ruby’s funeral.
It was a beautiful November day full of peace, love, and warmth.
We think about you always baby girl.
I really can’t believe that we are in November already and this year is almost over.
For some reason today I got thinking back to when I student taught 4th grade at DeerField Elementary.
That was in 2004- 2005.
That means my little 4th graders would have graduated high school this past May.
That totally blew my mind.
Where is the time going?
Before I know it my little ones will be graduating.
Yikes!
Anyway, I think that concludes our October happenings.
Whew, that was long!
If you stuck with me through this post, your awesome.
Hope you had an wonderful October.
Happy Fall!
Loved it all! I have so much to catch up for october. I wish I didn't take so many pictures but I just can't help it. It's genetic I think. I have never taken the kids to a hotel before. It does not sound like fun! Sorry your week was so long. I LOVED the video of Luke singing. What a sweetheart! I just love seeing kids get into songs. Hank is adorable. Time definitely flies. I can't believe how fast this year has gone. Well I'm off to finish my Halloween post. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the videos of Luke singing! He is so into it, it is fantastic! It is nice to know that everyone is busy with their schedules and it isn't just me. :) Have a beautiful fall!
