And he’s four

luke

4 years ago today a blonde haired, blue eyed, fun-loving, energetic, strong-willed, spirited, little boy entered our lives.

He came right on his due date.

Little did I know that was part of his personality.

He has kept us on our toes ever since.

He has waited for this day for a whole year, and thinks big things are going to happen now that he is four (including no more tantrums & crying).

We have kept him busy all day long.

We started out with breakfast in (my) bed.

{A pancake with nutella, syrup on the side, bananas, and chocolate milk, this boy knows what he wants}

Then headed to lunch at his favorite place, “old McDonald’s”.

{“mom, I’m going to sit on his lap and you will take a picture, but I’m not going to smile, okay?”}

The one with the play place was closed so it was kind of a bust, but he didn’t notice.

I dropped him off at preschool where they celebrated there and ate donuts.

When I picked him up we headed over to Kangaroo Zoo (a big warehouse full of bounce houses) to play with his cousin London.

{Again, didn’t want to smile}

We ended the night by going to dinner as a family at Pizza Factory.

They made him his own “4” pizza.

He has been on cloud nine all day.

Whenever anyone called to talk to him, his conversations cracked me up, he was talking a hundred miles a minute.

Here are some of the things that have come out of his mouth today:

“mom, you need to tell me Happy Birthday son!”

I overheard him saying all day, Happy Birthday to me!

“It’s my birthday, my most favorite time of the year!”

At McDonald’s: “mom, tell that lady it’s my birthday today.”

At dinner: “mom, tell him that we are on a kid date for my birthday.”

“mom, do my hands look bigger today? “what about my head?”

“I love this big slide, because I’m four now and I’m not scared.”

“I’m four now, that means I am big, and strong, and super duper tough.”

“I’m being kind of silly right now. I told you I would be silly on my birthday and I am.”

Tomorrow night we are having a family party and he can’t wait.

He mostly is excited for the presents (trying to teach him presents aren’t everything, it’s a hard task).

I will leave you with the cutest video of Hank laughing at Luke and his birthday balloons.

  1. Happy Birthday Luke! 4 is amazing! Although if he is like Ryan, here comes the reasoning of why he doesn't have to listen to you. haha :) I love all the sayings you wrote down. He is so adorable and I'm so glad he had a blast on his birthday! The video of Hank is so cute! I can't wait until Brynn is laughing like that... maybe then she'll be sleeping too! :) I love that Luke didn't want to smile and you just took his picture. I love it! haha And London looks so much like your sister!
