We continued with my birthday celebration Sunday night by eating some delicious Nothing Bundt Cake.
Luke has been singing happy birthday non-stop this weekend so I decided to film him.
Please excuse the underwear only, I cannot get him to wear clothes.
Last night I had The Bachelor Premier party combined with a little birthday shindig.
It was a great night.
I made too much food, but it’s always better to have extra, right?
There was eleven of us total so it made for a long night of laughter and chatting.
It was great to watch the Bachelor with that many people, we all had our opinions which made it super fun.
And it wouldn’t have been a real Bachelor party without sparkling cider and roses.
We ended the party with a little singing and birthday cake.
I love hosting parties, especially with all my Vegas friends that is why it was a bittersweet night for me.
Which brings me to the news.
Are you ready?
We are moving.
AGAIN.
Ahhhh.
Jared got a job offer last Thursday and we accepted the offer on Friday.
He will be working at Nature’s Sunshine near Thanksgiving Point in Utah.
It’s going to be another quick move (2 weeks quick) so the last couple of days have been moving things around, boxing up, and making giant lists of everything that needs to get done.
I am definitely torn about the move, but I do know it is right for us.
Utah is were we want to be to raise our family.
I know Vegas isn’t our permanent place so I know there is no point on continuing to stick around here if we have an opportunity like this.
I guess I am just going to miss my friends.
Like, really bad.
I will feel connected to these people for life.
They stepped in and helped out our family when Ruby was born.
We had only been here a month and most of them didn’t even know us.
I am teary-eyed just thinking about all that has been done for our family since we have lived here.
Can’t everyone just move with us?
Have I also mentioned I am not looking forward to moving back to the cold right now?
I asked Jared if we could at least post-pone the move until May.
That was a negative.
I will miss this temperature this time of year:
The one thing I am looking forward to is being by Ruby’s grave.
This will be a HUGE blessing.
Since it is such a quick move we will be in temporary housing in Cedar Hills until we figure out what our next move is.
MOVE. Ugh, I hate that word.
Don’t get me wrong though, I am excited to be back in Utah since we are there visiting every other weekend anyway.
Luke is REALLY excited because he keeps talking like we will be living with Nani and Poppy.
I don’t know if he gets it.
Every time I tell him this won’t be our house anymore and we aren’t coming back to it, I get SUPER sad and he just looks at me like I am a crazy woman (which I am).
There are definitely a lot of pros and cons to this move, which Jared and I have discussed over and over, but in the end this is the right thing.
One of the biggest cons is not having a Nothing Bundt Cake store close by :)
I will keep you all posted (as long as there is a pathway through the boxes to my computer) as we make progress with this change.
Wish us luck!!
I think that is GREAT news! Maybe I could actually meet you one day. What an adventure. Except I hate moving. Packing is the worst. Good luck with that. It will be worth it though.
ReplyDeletefun party! i love girl get-togethers! oh, and the video is so cute! those were some pretty cool candles too. so excited that you guys get to move back to utah. minus the moving part, i'm sure it will be great for you guys so that you can be closer to family. good luck with all that the new year brings you guys so soon!

But we are super duper super super excited for this move. We will be down in Big Yellow to get you! Oh and there is a Nothing Bundt Cakes in Sandy - that isn't too far! It will be good once you finally get settled. Good luck in the next week or two till we see you to load those boxes up. BTW the kids are very excited!
ReplyDeleteOh shoot that is logged into Alexs account. Sorry! It is me not Alex!
ReplyDeleteYeah!! So excited to have you guys back! Congratulations on the new job and good luck with the move.
ReplyDeleteLove the bachelor party! so fun! We can do some when you move here! I think you should probably just move into our neighborhood, that work out great.
ReplyDeleteYAY!!! That is fantastic! I was wondering what news you had that you didn't have last time you were here. :) What a blessing. You are so lucky to have a husband who actively looks for jobs. Maybe mine will get around to that one day. Although, I can imagine how hard it will be to move. I was all gung ho on moving anywhere until Annie and I felt the love from those around me in the ward. How could I leave them? Oh and the packing. I feel for you! But so happy for your family and being close to Ruby. That will be wonderful. Good luck with the packing!
ReplyDeleteOh and I just watched the video with the kids and Luke is so cute! hearing him say Mommy Kristin is absolutely adorable, so much funner to hear "in person". Oh and Brady started singing on my lap... apparently he knows that song! ;) Glad you had a great birthday!
ReplyDeleteYay! Thats exciting! So glad he got the job! Have you decided where you are going to go up here? You going to kick someone out? Good luck. If there is something I can do let me know.
ReplyDeleteLove the video! He is soooo cute! He might need clothes in Utah lol brrrr!
ReplyDeleteThanks for always hosting the best parties. Certainly going to miss these festive get-togethers. And we for sure have to text about the Bachelor...it is the most dramatic season ever, after all. Haha.
ReplyDeleteYay for moving back to Utah! and yay for the Bachelor! I work in Pleasant Grove so it will be lots easier to do some lunches :)
