We had a jam packed weekend trying to get in our last minute holiday fun before we head to Utah.
Friday we went to Bass Pro Shop (Luke’s FAVORITE place, he tells us how to get there in the car) where they had all sorts of events going on.
Luke loved the train, of course, unfortunately it wasn’t working.
Shooting the ducks & animals
Playing with the most adorable camping set up ever
Making a picture frame craft
We bailed out on visiting Santa because the line was ridiculously long, but we knew of a place where we could see Santa and quickly.
We headed over to Ethel M Chocolate factory where they decorate their cactus garden with lights.
(Couldn’t get rid of the red eyes in these pictures no matter what program I used, Luke insisted on wearing Jared’s scarf)
Santa was there and the line was nothing compared to Bass Pro.
Luke hopped right up on his lap and told him he wanted a choo choo train.
Luke left his lap with a pack of M&M’s.
We walked around to look at the lights and took the chocolate factory tour only for the pure fact that you get chocolate at the end.
We then stopped for hot chocolate before heading home.
Saturday Jared was out near Boulder City paintballing with some friends so we met him out there to try and catch the Santa train.
It was sold out, but they had a ton of other stuff going on that Luke didn’t even notice.
We rode three trains, one of which was a cool old steam engine.
Jared and I even thought this one was neat to ride.
Another train was a little one that went through a tunnel and over a bridge. Luke thought this one was so cool.
We also visited the museum where they had model trains set up to look at.
We stopped off at A&W for some tasty eats before making our way back for nap time.
Later that night we went to Old Henderson to watch the Winterfest parade.
It was cold. I have become soft since moving to Vegas, but it was cold.
I felt like the family in A Christmas Story watching the parade at the first of the movie, freezing and dancing to the music.
We watched the classic movie, Home Alone when we returned back home.
We ended our weekend with decorating Christmas trees on Sunday. Luke just ate the candy but he did help line up the cinnamon bears just right along the bottom of one tree.
It was a great family fun weekend.
We are looking forward to many more holiday memories made this week and next, especially as we get to visit with our families soon.
What a great weekend. It looks like there is a lot of fun things to do there. I am so jealous that you get to go home for Christmas.
