To follow up on our Friday night anniversary date, things went well with Luke.
He really warmed up to the babysitter right away and she said he went to bed just fine (unless she might be lying to me).
Our night on the other hand was, well, interesting.
Jared didn’t mention that this event was for one of his RETIRED HOA communities.
We spent the first part of the night mingling with 55 and older while eating appetizers and drinking water while they drank wine.
The second half of the night was the entertainment part.
It was advertised that it was going to be a whole bunch of Broadway plays combined into one play.
Instead it was Broadway song after song after song with no play or storyline.
Not my thing.
The retired community sure did love it though.
I don’t care to listen to Broadway music unless 1) I know the song or 2) I am actually watching the play.
I guess I am just not that cultured in Broadway.
However, it was a nice night to get out of the house with Jared.
Good thing we are going on a cruise in a couple weeks to really celebrate our anniversary.
I told Jared never in a million years would I think that we would be celebrating our 4th anniversary with a retired community.
Now if we were actually retired ourselves on our 4th anniversary and spending it with them, that would be awesome.

Saturday Jared’s work had their annual employee picnic.
We missed the warm weather by about 2 days.
The day Utah got hit with a really bad storm was the day we got the cold weather and wind.
It was freezing.
We made the most of it by letting Luke do all the activities including the bounce houses.
{Look at that determination!}
Luke always has a good time when bounce houses and cotton candy are involved.

I turned my A/C off about a week ago to see if we could get away with just opening up our windows.
It was just too dang hot so I turned it back on.
Three days ago I turned it back off only to be turning on my heater last night.
It was so cold I didn’t want Luke freezing through the night.
It is crazy how quickly the weather can change.
I went to grab my mail just a little while ago and it finally feels like fall outside.
I have to admit I was a little jealous of Utah’s big snowstorm.
I am not a fan of the snow come January, February, March or April (sometimes May), but I do love it in November and December.
It really makes the holidays more magical to me.
Speaking of holidays, Luke is at the perfect age right now to enjoy the magic of the season.
He is so excited for “Missmas” time and keeps asking me if it is here.
First we are preparing for his birthday party coming up this Saturday, then we will think about putting up our tree.
Whenever he wants me to buy him something at the store he always says “for my birthday, please?”
He is going to be one spoiled little boy.
I LOVE the look on his face when he is getting ready to hit the ball! I love Broadway songs, but not if they are just back to back with no acting. :( I'm glad he did well with the babysitter! Kyla's birthday party is on Saturday as well! Great day for a party.
ReplyDeleteI was so jealous of the snow too. I don't know why. I love that he is excited for Christmas. It is such a fun age. You will have a great year. I am excited to see Luke's birthday.
ReplyDeleteI meant to text you the whole time I was down there and ask you where the hot weather you always talk about was. I froze my butt off!!! How funny it was all retired people. That is classic!
ReplyDeleteIt is so fun when they get old enough to be excited for Christmas! I can't wait either!
ReplyDelete"Missmas" how cute!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! The cruise...I'm so jealous, hope you have a wonderful time!
