Tonight Jared and I are going out.
Alone.
Jared got invited to an event through his work where we will be going to see a play.
It will be a perfect anniversary date night.
We have to make up for our anniversary from last night.
Jared took the young men in our ward to play dodge-ball while I ate a Wendy’s salad at home.
It was really romantic.
So off we go tonight.
What I am nervous about is Luke.
This will be the first time that we are leaving him with a babysitter he doesn’t know that will be putting him to bed.
We have always have family members around to watch him and put him to bed if necessary.
We have had teenage babysitters before, but they have always been here after Luke is in bed more just to watch the house.
It should be interesting, but I am hoping all goes well.
My boy has a certain bedtime routine so I hope he will be lenient if it doesn’t go exactly how it should.
I also tried skipping the nap today just so he would be extra tired at bedtime, but he fell asleep in the car and is now asleep on my bed after trying to wake him.
He must be really tired.
Wish us luck.

Luke’s new saying is “just right”.
For example:
“Luke, don’t put your fingers in my milk, please.”
“Why?”
“Because your fingers are dirty and I don’t want them in the milk I am drinking.”
“No, my fingers aren’t dirty, they are just right.”
“Luke, don’t blow spit with your tongue, please.”
“Why?”
“Because it’s not a very nice thing to do, it gets spit all over people.”
No, my spit is just right.”
Haha, don't you know he's "just right"?
ReplyDeleteHaha that is hilarious! Just right haha.
ReplyDeleteI hope the babysitting goes well! I still have a hard time leaving them before bed, but I know the girls are capable. And I figure the kids act better for them than for me. Since being a leader for Beehives, I've been so grateful to have like 10 different babysitters at my disposal. I hope he does okay and then you guys can go on lots more dates!! Exciting!
Hope it went well with luke and you guys had a "just right" night!

I hope that your babysitting went ok! I've always been lucky enough to have babysitters that Kyla knows. But, I have yet to have a babysitter put her to bed. :( I'm still unsure on that one. We have a specific routine as well. I hope that you had a great date night!
ReplyDeleteI hope the date went well and you had a nice time. I hope it went "just right."
ReplyDeleteJust right is too cute! How funny. Do you say that?
