We had a great weekend.
Luke attended his very first friend birthday party.
It was a super-hero themed party for his friend, Jaxon, who was turning 3.
Luke came home with a giant goodie bag full of toys and treats, a belly filled with cupcakes and ice cream, and a Captain America tattoo on his forearm.
I would say it was a success.

Winco just opened up a store in Henderson and I am in heaven.
I love Winco.
They have awesome deals.
Luke loves the samples.
I have already made a trip to purchase my chocolate chip bagels and I am sure I will be going back often.
Maybe it’s a good thing the store isn’t very close by or I would be stopping in for a bagel everyday.

Luke has started his Gymboree and Tumbling classes this past week.
He gets so excited and yells Class! Class! when I tell him it is time to go.
He is learning how to use his imagination to climb and pretend on the gym equipment.
In his tumbling class he is learning the balance beam, handstands, cartwheels, and somersaults.
In a couple weeks he starts swim lessons, let’s hope that goes as well as his gym classes.
It could be disastrous.

Funny things about Luke:
*He thinks Jared works at the M casino. Whenever he sees it he says, Daddy- work. I think this is because we only usually travel over by the M casino if we are on our way to visit Jared at work. Or maybe Jared has become a blackjack dealer without telling me.
*Luke has become obsessed with his toe jam lately. It is really quite gross/funny. He will randomly want me to take his socks off during the day so he can look between his toes. The whole time he says, yuck, yuck!! Yes Luke, it is yuck.
*I think the word I hear most often from Luke (besides mom) is the word near. It is Luke’s way of saying come here. “Near mom, near” while pulling my hand.
*Luke has started a new tradition at the dinner table. We all have to hold hands in a circle while he offers the dinner prayer. I love it!!
*Luke is good at throwing tantrums like any two year old, but he does something that I call the tantrum dance. When he is really upset he stomps his feet fast and as high as he can while rocking and moving in a back and forth motion. All the while screaming at the top of his lungs. Maybe one day I can get it on video. He is lucky that it makes me laugh…

I forgot to post this picture of one of my yard sale deals.
The chair was a great find and so is the boy sitting in it.
What about his slippers? Where they a great find? We got a few pairs of those at Target for around 2.50. haha The toe jam thing is so funny.
ReplyDeleteI am laughing because I can see he whole tantrum dance in my head as you describe it. Toe jam thing is hilarious. It 's so funny what they come up with.
ReplyDeleteMiss you guys.
He is SO cute!! 2 year olds are the BEST!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the recommendation for the book Angel Children. I bought it and just received it in the mail today and SO excited to read it. I have never heard of the book - which is odd because I thought I have read EVERYTHING regarding this subject :) So THANK YOU!!!
He is so cute! I love hearing about what he says and does. The toe jam is so funny! These boys! Ryan likes to pick his nose and will tell me he is doing it if he is in another room. He knows I love it that much. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd the "Near Mom, near." So cute! He is looking more and more grown up. I swear as they get closer to three they turn into little kids and not babies. I tell Ryan everyday to stop growing, but he just refuses.
That is awesome he is doing tumbling! I am thinking about doing that too, I just need to look into it. Thanks for the fun update! I am trying to do better in my blogging. :)
