A couple weeks ago I got a call that I finally had tickets to the Ellen DeGeneres show.
I almost peed my pants.
I had been trying to get tickets for a really long time, but with no luck.
My friend, Jen, had also been trying for tickets for years so when I told her I had two tickets we immediately started planning our trip.
At the last minute she told me she was terribly sick.
Can’t get out of bed sick.
I was so sad that she wouldn’t be coming with me.
However, I also knew someone that was just as big of an Ellen fan as myself and Jen.
It was very last minute, but my friend, BreighAn, was willing to make the trip with me.
We had a fabulous trip.
Our hotel was fantastic and we were able to do a little sight-seeing as well.

After we were able to see as much of Hollywood as we could we were on our way to the Ellen show.
By this point we were both beyond excited/giddy.
We checked in, reapplied makeup, changed shoes, filled out surveys, waited in a line, changed back shoes, reapplied more makeup, got picked to be interviewed, waited to be interviewed, wondered why we were never interviewed, walked to the studio, waited in the Riff Raff room, freaked out when we walked into the studio, freaked out more when we got front row seats, and then the dancing began….
We danced for quite a while before the show started.
We oohhed and aahhed when Tony came out.
Then it was time for the show to start.
Out walked Ellen.
- star-struck -
It was surreal to actually be there seeing and watching the show.
The show ran really smoothly and was pretty much real time.
Watching it back we saw only a couple things that were cut out.
My hope was that I wouldn’t expect too much, but I was disappointed about a couple things:
-Ellen didn’t dance at the very beginning, I feel this is her trademark so I felt ripped
-Momma and Portia weren’t there
-No giveaway (because dangit, I deserve one)
-I wasn’t a huge fan of the guests on the show that day
Despite this it was all worth it, and I am going to do everything I can to go again.
Next time Ellen I better see some dancing.
***If you watched the show you should have been able to see us at the very beginning (a pretty good close up too) and coming back from commercial break around the 40 minute mark.
Amen. Again, thanks for thinking of me! I had sooo much fun!

ReplyDeleteI am so glad you got to do it. I get to go next time. and there better be dancing.
ReplyDeleteSo fun!! I totally missed it! I thought it was a different day than it was. I hope next time she meets all your expectations! Dancing, good guests, and giveaways!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Kevin Costner pic! I am glad you had a good time! Next time I want to go too!
ReplyDeleteThat is seriously so cool. I do have to admit, I would feel some serious let down with no dancing. :(
ReplyDeleteAwesome! How fun! I love the Ellen show too, but never get to watch it anymore. I did back in the day and always when I was nursing my babies. She is HILARIOUS!
