Christmas 2008

All through the month of December Jared kept telling me that this was going to be the best Christmas ever. I knew that it was going to be fun because we were finally married and able to spend time with both families for Christmas, however I had no idea that he had this up his sleeve...
That's right, he gave into getting me a kitten! I had been talking about wanting a pet ever since we met, but I thought it was going to be years before I actually talked him into it. He is such a sweetheart for letting me have a pet. He surprised me Christmas morning with the new kitten. She had been staying over at his parents until Christmas. Christmas morning Jared woke up at 4:30am and couldn't sleep because he was too excited. By 5am, he couldn't stand it anymore and went over to his parents to pick her up. At 6:30am I woke up and noticed he wasn't in bed. By that time he was back to the house and when I yelled for him, Jared brought me in my new pet. I was shocked and speechless for a little while. I couldn't have been happier. She was already named Dasher, after the reindeer, and I liked it so much we kept it. As a side note, they told us it was a male until I took her to the vet and found out that's not the case, but we kept the boyish name anyway. She has been so fun and I am so happy that we have a new addition to our little family.
Jared also went above and beyond and got me the whole Willow Tree Nativity set that I have been eying since we have been dating. I didn't even know he knew I wanted this so it was a huge shock as well. I have such a great husband!

The last thing he bought for me was snow clothes for sledding and skiing. I got the whole get up...boots, snow pants, winter coat, gloves, beanie, and a neck warmer. They are so nice and kept me so warm when we went sledding. I had such a great Christmas with Jared this year. We were able to spend the day with both mine and his family. Christmas Eve was spent at our annual party at my grandmas. Christmas morning was at Jared's brother's home for omelets and other delicious breakfast foods. Then later that afternoon we went over to my parents. We started a tradition a couple of years ago that we go to a movie Christmas afternoon. It is always a lot of fun. It was such a nice day spent with friends and family. I am so lucky to have such a great husband who loves me so much. Thanks hubby, you were right, it was the best Christmas!
