I’ve realized that my house style has changed a lot since I first started posting pictures of my home.
I just can’t seem to leave things alone and I am constantly changing things.
I need to repost pictures of my family room because it looks so different from when I first posted pictures.
But today you are getting my craft/sewing room along with some small projects I’ve been working on.
We will start with the small projects.
Jared has been out of town a lot for work, that means when the kids go to bed I’ve had a lot of time for projects.
I’ve been wanting to paint this dresser FOREVER.
This dresser use to be my mom’s when she was little and I’ve had it in every home I’ve lived in and NEVER painted it until now.
Here is the before:
It was in pretty bad shape.
I saw this photo on pinterest and knew this is what I wanted to do with it:
Here is the after results:
I made my own chalk paint and did two different shade of gray.
I spray painted the handles and the window white.
Then I added back my decor.
I spy a little boy in the background.
I’m in LOVE with the results and it changes the whole feel of the entryway.
And Jared loves that he didn’t have to do it!
I found these cute arrows and decided to paint them and hang them above my door.
I’m still trying to decide if this will be the final place for these arrows.
I want something above my door, just not sure this is the right thing.
They might even change colors.
Nothing is permanent in my house.
Eek.
While Jared was home for a couple days, I put him to work making me a wood box for my table.
I decided to paint it a white color and distress it with stain.
Then added the year we got married for kicks and giggles.
I saw a super cute sign that I fell in love with, but I didn’t fall in love with the price tag so decided to DIY it myself.
Can I say I love it when I made it?
Well I love it.
I hung the sign in my entryway.
It gives a cheery hello to anyone that enters ;)
Another project that I worked on while Jared was gone was a gallery wall in my stairwell.
The gallery wall is on the landing as you head down the stairs.
The lighting is so bad in this stairwell.
I’m so sorry for the bad quality pics and the glare of the light.
I gathered up a bunch of pictures that had meaning to me.
Most of them are my babies and family, but I like that each picture is a memory of our life.
I filled in between the pictures with quotes and notes.
One note that I found and framed was from Jared to myself when we had been dating 2 months.
Another memory I framed was Jared’s stretch of my engagement ring that he drew on a post-it note.
I took the molds of Ruby’s hand and foot print and framed it along with the red ribbon that was given to each person that came to her funeral.
I also framed the quote that was on the back of her birth announcement.
I love that each picture tells a story of our life.
It’s a brief snippet of moment in time.
And the last things to show you is my craft room.
This room is in the basement, which means I need to show the rest of the basement soon.
I haven’t put a whole lot of decorating into this room because, well, it’s just a craft room, but I do like having my own space for projects.
I don’t have a before picture, but it was used as a bedroom.
We left the wall color the same and I just added decor that I already had on hand.
The chandelier came from Luke’s bedroom.
His room was painted pink with this lighting when we first moved in and it just wasn’t his style, so we moved the chandelier down to my room.
This print was a gift from my sister, Lindsay, and worked perfectly with the colors in here.
I made the curtains a long time ago when we lived in our townhome.
The black coffee table was a freebie were I store a lot of my craft supplies.
The blue lamps were also a freebie that I snagged from a lady just about to give them to Goodwill.
These two chairs I received from my sister, Andrea.
She no longer had room in her home for them so I snatched them up.
My sewing table is from IKEA, along with the owl print above the table.
All the rest of the decor is stuff I had on hand.
Now that was one long decorating post with bad quality iphone photos!
Glad you stuck with me.
It looks great! I wish I had more time for crafting. .it seems with 4 kids, one being a 3 week old, my days are spent washing clothes and cleaning up after kids!! I'll be glad when I can feel energized to craft again! You and Andrea are great crafters..I like to copy! :-)
