We got Luke a glider bike for his 2nd birthday.
He got pretty good on that little bike and felt really comfortable riding it.
For Christmas last year we decided to get him a pedal bike with training wheels.
He was less than thrilled about it, but we tried hard to get him excited about it.
He kept choosing to ride the glider bike instead of the pedal one.
Finally we decided to hide the glider bike so he would have to get use to the pedals.
This past Thursday he was begging us to ride his glider bike so we made a deal with him.
He could ride his glider bike that day if we could take off the training wheels on his pedal bike Saturday and give it a go.
It was a deal.
Saturday came and Jared took the training wheels off and this is what happened:
Jared held on to him for about a block and then let go and he took off.
We were all pretty shocked (including Luke) that he was riding by himself.
He rode all day on Saturday without one crash.
Success.
He wanted to go around the neighborhood and show all his friends.
Very proud parent moment happened on Saturday.
Way to go Luke!
