Ruby June Birthday Help

Ruby’s 3rd birthday is coming up in less than 3 months (October 11th).

It may seem a little early to start planning for it, but this year I wanted to do a couple new things and knew it would take some prep work.

If you are interested in helping celebrate Ruby this year there are going to be three ways you can contribute.

Option #1: Lily Wrap Blankets

LilyWraps are an original blanket inspired by a family’s daughter, Lily, who passed away prematurely.

They are designed specifically for families to wrap their baby in as they journey to heaven or have passed away.

When I lived in Las Vegas my church helped me sew a ton of these blankets to donate to Sunrise hospital on Ruby’s first birthday.

When talking with the social worker there on her 2nd birthday she mentioned how much they loved these blankets.

For Ruby’s 3rd birthday I would like to donate more of these blankets to a local hospital here in Utah and possibly send some to Sunrise in Vegas.

I have posted instructions on my blog here (with pictures) and hope they will help you as you make them.

Here is another link with instructions to help you make them as well (make sure to make option 2: Snug as a Bug).

They are SUPER easy to make, only beginning sewing skills needed.

You can either make them yourself or donate FLANNEL fabric to have me sew them.

If you are out of state you are welcome to donate them to a local hospital (but make sure to send me a pic please) or send them to me to donate.

Get started on them early because time just starts to fly by!

Option 2: Angel Necklaces

I’ve been looking into getting necklaces that we could donate as well to local hospitals to give to angel mothers.

I LOVE all of my necklaces that represent Ruby and I think it is important for the mother (and father) to have something they can wear or carry with them at all times to represent their angel.

I haven’t decided on which necklace it will be for sure, but it will either have an angel wing on it or footprints.

Depending on which one I choose and how many I order will determine the price.

They should be no more than $5 a necklace.

If you are wanting to donate to help me buy more necklace I would love it.

Once I decide on the necklace I would be happy to share the link if anyone would like to purchase some directly and donate locally.

Let me know through the comments or email (kristinwarburton@hotmail.com) about donating and I will give you more details.

Option #3: Ruby Giveaways

The last option is helping with Ruby giveaways.

I’ve done these for each birthday and they have been so great.

I would like to do these again this year, but have it all set up ahead of time.

It can get kind of stressful organizing these so close to her birthday.

I am looking for people willing to host a giveaway.

What that means is that you will need to find an item that either is RED or that represents Ruby in some way (angels, heaven, kindness, service, etc.) to giveaway and ship out.

If you would like to see how this worked last year, click here and scroll through October’s posts.

I am hoping that those willing to host will be able to find something to giveaway by the end of August.

This will give me all of September to gather pictures of the items and write up the blog posts ahead of time.

If you are interested in hosting a giveaway, please let me know in the comment section or send me an email.

I will provide more detailed information to those willing to host.

And for those willing to participate in the giveaways are just as important. Please, please, please enter the giveaways come October!

I hope this all makes sense.

If you want further information on any of the above items, please let me know in the comments or through email: kristinwarburton@hotmail.com

Thank you all for helping me celebrate my daughter!

    1. That would be great Leslie! It is really easy, pretty much sewing a square with a straight stitch. :)

  8. I can do any or all that you need. Is it flannel fabric? Maybe we can get together and work on some together. I would love to donate on the necklaces too
