I feel like my posts have just become reviews of what has happened in our lives the past week.
Like a journal entry of random bits and pieces to our week.
Nothing poignant or uplifting to read, but I think this might be all you get for awhile.
Last Saturday we took Luke to Jared’s family cabin above Heber city for some sledding.
I call it extreme sledding because we sled down this huge snow covered road and are brought back up to the top on a four wheeler only to do it again.
Luke loved everything about it from the four wheeler to wanting to go fast down the hill.
{Just woke up from a car ride nap and is still a little out of it}
{Mom & Luke}
{Dad & Luke}
{The video doesn’t do it justice to how fast we are really going}
We spent a couple hours sledding then took Luke to The Dairy Keen in Heber because it is all about trains.
They have trains everywhere including this train table that we had a hard time pulling him away from.
He talks about this place every day and wants to go back for lunch all the time.
That night we dropped Luke off at my good friend Amber’s house so Jared and I could have a date night.
Luke fell asleep in the car on the way there so he wasn’t too happy with the drop off but I knew Aunt Amber would pull through and make it a great night for him.
They made homemade mini pizzas, played legos, and watched a movie in their theatre room.
Jared and I walked around the new Scheels sporting good store for a bit before heading to dinner at Joe’s crab shack.
{Jared being one with nature, I call him nature boy and he hates it}
It was a nice night out, just the two of us.
Hopefully we can figure out a way to have more date nights.

On Tuesday I signed Luke up for preschool at the rec center.
It was quite the ordeal.
I had no idea that I would practically need to find and sign up for a preschool before Luke was even born.
I had to go stand in line for a wrist band at 7am only to come back that night and wait in another line for my wristband number to be called to sign him up.
Luckily they still had a spot, not at the time I wanted, but I guess I can’t be choosy when it comes to preschool?!?!
Craziness.

I have been gaining weight like crazy with this pregnancy.
It is starting to scare me quite a bit especially because I can’t do much about it.
I am hungry ALL.THE.TIME.
However, I should mention I was hungry all the time with my other two pregnancy (and also when I am not pregnant, but let’s not get into that).
The funny thing is I am actually exercising 5 times a week alternating between yoga and cardio.
I exercised during my pregnancy with Luke and still gained quite a bit but dropped it really fast.
I think that had more to do with him being my first baby, but I am hoping the exercise will help with this baby as well.
I have already gained as much weight as I had gained in total with Ruby and I am only half way through.
I thought I would lose the weight with Ruby quick too because it wasn’t a lot, but I am not so sure I lost any of it (I don’t weigh myself so I only go off of how clothes fit and feel).
I don’t think my late night chocolate malt cravings are helping this situation either.
{I do have my running shoes on in the picture though}
Today while Luke and I were at the dinosaur museum they have a giant scale that you can weigh yourself on and compare it to the weight of a dinosaur.
It said I weighed 5 more pounds than I did on Monday at my doctor’s appointment.
I wouldn’t doubt the fact that I have gained 5 pounds in 3 & 1/2 days, that’s how rapid the weight gain has been.
But I will continue to eat and prepare myself to work my tail off to lose the weight.

Dear Utah (especially my neighborhood),
Christmas is over.
It’s time to take down the wreaths, lights, trees, and nativity scenes.
It’s March.
I know it’s cold but it still must be done.
If your Christmas lights are frozen to your house and they have to stay up that is fine, but please stop turning them on.
Thank you and you’re welcome.

And a few more pictures for good measure:
At the dinosaur museum Luke had to look at the map everywhere we went.
Jared’s out of town for work so we had an indoor picnic for dinner.
Pigs in a blanket with a pig on a blanket.
you crack me up! love that you had your running shoes on the picture. Don't worry about it - you will get it off after the baby is safely here!! Luke is so cute. I wish C would let me do his hair like his.
ReplyDeletegreat post. Loved reading every minute of it. You better invite us to go sledding next year. That looks like so much fun. We still have people with Christmas stuff up too. So weird. I have even seen trees still in people's windows. Must love Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one who gets annoyed at the post Christmas decor. It drives me crazy. I have gained more weight with this baby as well and I have no idea why. I way right now what I did when I delivered my 1st and I'm only 23 weeks so I'm afraid what I'm going to weigh at the end!!
ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud about xmas deco ; 0) I love all of the fun things you guys do! !
ReplyDeletemy blog is often the same - reviews of our week but i figured that's perfect since i use mine as a family journal and make it a book. we all want to remember the little things we did. i love the sledding. it looked fast to me! luke looks cute in all the pics. btw - what do you use in luke's hair to spike it? i just got tyler's cut short and i have no idea what to do with it. your pregnancy update is so funny! i just tried not to pay attention to the weight gain since i had little control over it. i just enjoyed the process and the food. the taking care of the baby after the arrival seems to make the pounds fall off! if not then, then when you have to start chasing them!
