Today we held a picnic at the cemetery with my sister’s kids to honor Ruby.
It has been 8 months since she left us.
We each got to write down something we will do to honor Ruby, just like we did at her funeral.
We started out with 8 balloons. One for each of us to hold, one to represent each month.
We had a couple of mishaps and ended up with 5.
The kids were all excited to let them float to Ruby in heaven.
Then we took some time to make her grave festive for the 4th of July.
My niece, Tessa, can’t stop talking about letting her balloon fly to Ruby.
She keeps asking to look at pictures of Ruby on my phone.
Hopefully they feel a little closer to their cousin Ruby after today.
Thanks for spending the day with us.

We had a great day. I am so glad that we could have the opportunity to be a part of Ruby's life. I am so thankful that Tess and Ike are talking about her. We had another 15 minute talk before bed. Tess was asking me all sorts of questions. It was a nice day. Thanks for letting us be part of it.
