Week in review

Last week kept us very busy.

On Wednesday we went to the PG Rodeo. It is tradition to go and to wear boots.

Jared and I only saw about 1/4 of the actual rodeo because we stayed busy tracking down a busy little boy.

Luke loved watching the horses and became rather comfortable on Uncle Rich’s lap.

He did really well considering it was 3 hours past his bedtime when we got out of there.

On Thursday it was Jared’s big 32.

Luke and I made him a pancake breakfast and then visited his work with a yummy ooey gooey cake.

I decided to be a good wife and run a whole bunch of errands for Jared to help get ready for his Ragnar race.

Not a good idea.

I was not a happy camper by the time I was done.

Note to self: Trying to be a good wife doesn’t always equal a happy one.

After I composed myself  we went to dinner and a movie with my sister and husband.

I hope it was a good day for him.

On Friday Jared took off bright and early to run the Ragnar Relay.

Luke and I stayed home and made banana ice cream. It was delicious and Luke ate it all gone.

I even put a little peanut butter in it for extra calories.

We also got to watch the neighbor kids for a little bit.

Reagan told me I need to name my little girl Ebolyn (Evelyn).

We will definitely consider it.

Before Jared got home on Saturday, we went to Salem Pond to feed the ducks.

It was such a beautiful day.

We have to watch out for that goose in the background. He is a mean one.

Once Jared arrived home from the race, he cleaned himself up so we could attend the parade of homes.

He looked like he had got about 2 hours of sleep on a gym floor, oh wait he did.

Oh how I love the parade of homes.

Jared then took me to Red Lobster to use his birthday gift card.

Oh how I love coconut shrimp.

Then Jared and Luke both crashed.

***************************************

On Sunday Jared woke up to another yummy breakfast.

I can say it was yummy because I found the recipes here and here.

We spent the day visiting family and eating more cake.

I am so lucky to have such good men in my life.

My grandpas, my daddy, my father-in-law, my husband, and my Luke.

Jared is a wonderful dad to Luke.

Luke goes crazy when Jared walks through the door.

Jared teaches him all the fun things that little boys love to do.

My dad also spoils him rotten.

In fact, my parents went out and bought him this yesterday just so he can mow the lawn just like papa.

I love that Luke has such good examples in his life.

Luke asks where daddy and papa are at least five times a day.

******************************************

Luke is talking more and more each day.

He tries to repeat a lot of words I say.

There are just too many words to list here, but my favorite lately is when he says grass.

The “gr” sound usually doesn’t come out with it and it makes me smirk a little.

*******************************************

We are headed out to St. George on Friday for a birthday getaway trip.

So excited for a small vacation.

It’s no Europe, but I take what I can get.

******************************************

One more thing, my spider veins are seriously getting outtacontrol this pregnancy.

Help please!

  1. Again, I LOVE how you're doing your blog. I love the parade of homes. Jared refuses to go with me. You're so lucky Jared will go and on only two hours of sleep! And the coconut shrimp at Red Lobster is to die for. Yum!

We need to hang out soon. We are spending a lot of the mornings out in the backyard with our water table, and I think Luke would love it. I'll text ya next time we're about to go out. :)

  2. How fun. It sounds like a great but busy weekend. I can't wait to try the recipes. My kids love Orange Julius, but I have never made it with powdered sugar.

It is so good that Luke has such great people in his life. Including you.

  3. My favorite line in this post was: "Trying to be a good wife doesn’t always equal a happy one." It made me laugh out loud...so true!
