The Adventures of Kristin and Pam

So just thinking about our trip home from Arkansas leaves me feeling exhausted.

Maybe even too exhausted to write all the awesome details.

So I will use bullet points to speed things along.

  • Flight was late taking off from Little Rock
  • Plane couldn’t pull up to the gate because there was “equipment” blocking the gate
  • Connecting flight had already departed (early) when we finally got off the plane
  • About 5 other flights were cancelled due to weather so there were A LOT of us trying to re-book flights
  • Not one soul in the airport could re-book our flight, they directed us to a help center, which was a bunch of telephones
  • Waited on the telephone for a representative for an hour and was finally re-booked
  • Representative couldn’t book a hotel for us though
  • Waited in an hour long line to get a hotel and meal vouchers
  • Lady at the desk helping book a hotel was a real peach
  • All food places in the airport were closed by this time: starving
  • Waited in a giant line outside for one shuttle bus to take us to the hotel
  • Waited in another giant line at the hotel to check in
  • One restaurant at the Hotel open with one waitress and one cook
  • Restaurant not seating anyone for 35 minutes, but they are closing in 20, do the math
  • Double starving
  • Forget the meal vouchers, ordered a pizza
  • Only one pizza place around, hour and a half wait
  • Triple starving
  • In the meantime, the restaurant said they made sack lunches to eat
  • Bought a sack lunch while waiting for pizza
  • Barf in my mouth, the sandwich was disgusting
  • Pizza arrived at 11:30pm
  • Stuffed my face
  • Woke up at 4:00am to go back to the airport
  • Arrived in SLC around 9:00am
  • Mine and mom’s luggage both lost
  • About lost my patience with an employee who was implying I never looked for my luggage at the baggage claim
  • Finally got him to go to the back and look for our luggage where both suitcases were found
  • Home sweet home

And they say good customer service is hard to find?

  1. I am so glad you made it home and that Luke was not with you. I hope that you have recovered and make sure you write a letter to Delta Airlines.

  2. Holy cow! You poor thing. Being pregnant, I can not even imagine being that starving! I hope you never have to do that again, and I hope I never have to do that ever. Good thing you didn't have Like with you! ah!

  4. Can you imagine doing all of that with Luke?! It sounds like you had a wonderful time away. I am not kidding - you are inspiring me to do the same. I am not sure Ty would be as willing as Jared though. I bet it felt so nice coming home to them!
