We had a very Merry Christmas.
The miserable part comes in to play when I woke up Christmas morning with a terrible sore throat.
It continued to get worse the following day.
And the following day.
And the following day.
It felt like I was swallowing razor blades.
I was so miserable that I didn’t get out of bed two of those days.
Jared was kind enough to stay home and take care of Luke for me.
He also took good care of me.
You know the usual homemade soups, hot honey lemon tea, and smoothies.
With all that time lying in bed you would think I would be caught up with my blogging, but I was too miserable to think.
I am finally feeling better, but for a minute, just a minute I thought I was dying.
But enough about being miserable, let’s talk about being merry.
Our Merry Christmas started out on Christmas Eve when we went to my parents for our annual party.
Luke was ready to get the party started.
We ate.
We played bingo with a prizes.
We ate some more.
We played some more games.
We watched these rugrats run around.
Luke even snuggled a little with me. I think he knew it was a special night where his mom needed a lot of love.
Grandma even let Luke open one present on Christmas Eve.
He loves his new jammies.
Then we called it a night.
The next morning we woke up to this:
I should say Jared and I woke up to this.
Luke slept in until 9am!
That never happens.
He is usually up every morning at 7:30am.
The one day that I am okay with getting up early and Luke sleeps in.
Jared and I stared at each other on the couch for quite a while wondering if we should wake him.
We decided to let him sleep.
But when he did get up he was so excited that he ran crawled right over to his new toys.
I think after his birthday party he finally caught on about how to open presents. He ripped open everything.
He started to become a little overwhelmed with all the gifts, but his favorite was the fisher price corn popper.
My favorite gift for him was his new car seat.
Jared and I were also very spoiled.
I got a fabulous new sewing machine. I have already put it to good use and will show you soon what I have been working on.
Once the mess was all over the floor and not under the tree anymore we got dressed and headed to the annual Omelet breakfast with the Warburtons.
Luke played with more toys while we were there.
No, we did not buy him a pink butterfly rocker, but he sure loved it like it was his own.
Once we were stuffed with yumminess, we headed to my parents for more present opening and more food.
Can Christmas get any better?
Can Luke be any cuter on that pink butterfly?
I think not.
Merry Christmas.
Oh you poor thing. :( Sore throats are the worst! Ryan has slept in both years. It's crazy! Your tree was so beautiful! You have such a gift for beauty in the home. I'm glad you're feeling better. You need to get better to use the sewing machine. :)
ReplyDeleteLuke does look so cute on the Pink butterfly! He can come play with it anytime! I'm glad you are feeling better. Did it end up being strep?
