Traditions

One of our traditions every October is to carve pumpkins.

Since this is Luke’s very first Halloween I thought he might want to join us.

He decided he would rather paint his pumpkin.

First, he studied his pumpkin very carefully

Second, he made sure the brush had plenty of paint on it

Then he carefully started painting

Decided it needed a little hands on finger painting

Finally finished it off by painting the stem

His masterpiece

Jared did all the work on our pumpkin.

It turned out fabulous.

He wasn’t too happy about me taking his picture.

All ready for All Hallow’s Eve.

I always have to make a treat while we are carving pumpkins. This year I made Cinnamon Streusel Muffins .

Jared always saves the seeds from the pumpkin to roast. They are quite delicious.

I hope you have fun Halloween traditions in your family.

Happy Haunting!

  1. Fun! We painted pumpkins too! Your post reminded me that I never blogged about it. Oops! Jared did awesome with that pumpkin. I am wishing we actually carved ours now so I could get some tasty seeds.:)
