Neighborhood Games

I love the neighborhood we live in.

Everywhere I look there are kids playing outside.

Every time I drive down the street to get out of our community, children have to stop their games and move out of the road.

Today there were a bunch of children on the sidewalk selling candy, pop, and anything else they could find. It made me smile.

Later this afternoon, I pushed Luke in the stroller down to our mailbox. Right by the mailboxes is a giant field.

About ten kids were playing Red Rover on the grass.

I let Luke stop and watch for awhile.

While we were watching I remembered I HATE the game Red Rover.

I hated it as a child and it still makes me cringe.

It hurt my hands when someone was trying to break through and it hurt my stomach when I was trying to break through.

I know I am a wussy girl, but I can be. I do come from an all girl family.

Jared always makes the remark I needed to grow up with brothers and then I would be tough.

Oh well, I guess I will stick to teaching my children how to play freeze tag.

  1. Are you sayin I'm a wuss? You don't think I was strong enough to make you strong?
