Lucky Me

Kristin bugs me all the time to write something on our blog. She keeps reminding me that it's our blog and not just her blog. So, I guess it's finally time I write something. Kristin might be a little disappointed though, because this post isn't about me -- it's about her and Luke.

So often lately I am moved to tears when I think about how lucky I am. When I look at Luke, when I give Kristin a hug, when we are together as a family -- I just feel so blessed and I can't help but get a little misty eyed. My life is such a stark contrast from what it was just a few years ago and I don't take any of it for granted. I cherish each day I get to spend with Kristin and Luke. They both light up my world and give me a million reasons to be happy every single day. I want to share a few of the things I love about each of them.

What I love about Kristin:
  • I love watching her care for Luke. She is the best mother I have ever seen.
  • I love that she laughs so easily.
  • I love that when she gets discouraged she doesn't stay down for long. She pushes through it and quickly makes things better.
  • I love her beautiful smile. It brightens my day.
  • I love that she truly cares -- about me, about Luke, about family and others.
  • I love that she encourages me and gives me hope.

What I love about Luke:
  • I love walking into his room in the morning and being greeted by a great big smile.
  • I love the look on his face after he has finished his bottle and fallen asleep.
  • I love sneaking into his room at night and watching him sleep.
  • I love giving him a bath. He loves the water and is so good at bath time.
  • I love listening to him talk and coo.
  • I love watching him laugh. He's doing it a lot lately and it's so much fun.
The above lists are just a fraction of what I love about Kristin and Luke. I am grateful and very blessed to have the both of them in my life.
