This past Sunday was Luke’s big day…his blessing day. Jared gave him the most wonderful blessing. Luke was happy and calm through the whole blessing. He is such a sweet boy. Most of our family members were able to attend and stand in on the blessing. Our church was a packed house full of DeGraws and Warburtons. We hosted a dinner afterwards at our clubhouse to celebrate the big day. Luke was exhausted from all the festivities and took a quick cat nap while we were getting the dinner ready. Once Luke was awake, he had to be the star of the show and was passed from person to person. My father was able to get him laughing pretty hard and since then we can get him laughing pretty easily. I am yet to capture it on film though.
I was a little heart broken that my older sister, Andrea, and her family weren’t able to attend. They had their flights booked and were all set to come until a snowstorm hit Arkansas and cancelled all flights. I couldn’t believe the storm had to roll in on the day they were supposed to leave. Now in my mind I was picturing a huge storm; no way to even get in or out of your house, but instead this was the BIG STORM that kept my sister from coming. Pretty pathetic, huh? Like she said though, it was out of our hands and we had be okay with it. We were still able to enjoy the day and spend time with our other loved ones. We are so grateful for Luke. We have been abundantly blessed since he has entered our lives. I am grateful for a wonderful husband who was willing and excited to give Luke a name and a blessing, what a joy it is to have both of them in my life!
