Ar-kansas

A couple of weeks ago Jared and I ventured out to the dirty south to visit my sister. That's right we headed to Little Rock, AR. Jared and I both think it should be pronounced Ar-Kansas, but that's a different subject. Jared had never met my sister's husband, Jonathan, so we thought it would be a fun trip to go check out a new place. They were able to show us all that Little Rock has to offer. The first day we were there we went to the Little Rock Zoo (no, it is not a Zoo full of little rocks). It was so hot and humid that day, I thought I was going to melt. We were able to go inside the bird cage and the birds flew all around us and even landed on Jared a couple of times. Let's just say Andrea's kids did not find this part fun or exciting (see picture below).

The following day we decided it was too hot to do anything other than swim. Andrea has a pool in her community and we had it all to ourselves. That night they took us to eat at Larry's Pizza. Now this is a huge deal. We had to get there at 4:30 just to make sure we got a table when the buffet opened at 5pm. At Larry's Pizza it is a buffet, but instead of waiting to walk through a line to self-serve, they carry the pizzas around the table and you just raise your hand if you want that kind. They had all sorts of different kinds. To name a few: baked potato (my favorite), honey mustard chicken, fajita, cheeseburger, chocolate chip, buffalo wing... We even got to meet the owner was said he had been to Utah. He said he visited Coeur d'Alene, Utah once before. Now if my geography is correct I believe Coeur d'Alene is in Idaho and sits at the very top of the state, but Idaho... Utah, what's the difference?

The next morning Jonathan wanted to take Jared out hunting to show him the redneck way. They woke up at 4:30am just to get out there. Jared had a great time except for when we got home, he realized he had been eaten by chiggers while he was out in the woods. All he kept telling me is, chiggers are not fun. Once they were done hunting we thought it would be a great idea to head to the amusement park. Maybe it wasn't such a great idea. That night none other than Raven Simone (That's so Raven, Disney Channel) was going to be performing. I think just about everyone from Little Rock must love her because they were all there. We hit the waterpark for a bit, let the boys ride the rollercoaster and then called it a day. I think the best part about being there was seeing what everyone was wearing or I guess not wearing. Boy, do I love to people watch.

We had such a great time being out there with family. We played lots of games, watched movies, and ate really good homemade food. Andrea was generous enough to give me all her baby boy clothes and bedding. She is also pregnant and due 3 weeks ahead of me with a little girl. I was so excited to finally start hanging boy clothes in the closet. It was so great to see them since it is usually a twice a year occurence to hang out with my sister. Thanks to the Swensons for hosting us, we loved visiting you!

On the rollercoaster...Jared said this was one of the best ones he has ever been on

At the amusement park Isaac had more fun splashing in the puddles than anything else

Stella on the Carousel, the only ride Andrea and I could go on

In the bird cage with Isaac holding on to me for dear life

I stole this picture from my sister, this will be the only picture we have together while both of us are pregnant
