Christmas Shenanigans

We have been doing lots of holiday activities around these parts.

It started this past weekend when my sister hosted a favorite things party.

All of my family headed to Logan to spend the weekend together.

My sister started the party by having appetizers, dinner and dessert which consisted of some of our favorite foods.

She let the kids play a lot of holiday games including having a snowball fight with marshmallows.

She took pictures of us in a “photo booth” with fun holiday props.

Then the kids got to exchange their favorite candy/treat with each other.

The adults then exchange gifts.

We all brought some of our favorite things to give away.

We all walked away with some pretty good stuff.

Unfortunately, I was horrible with picture taking.

The rest of the night was spent hanging out.

The kids made an ornament, the girls made a craft, the boys went to the Aggies basketball game and once the kids were all in bed we watched a movie.

It was a wonderful weekend.

We hope this party becomes a yearly tradition.

I also attended a Christmas lunch with some women from my neighborhood this week.

The kids played while we ate.

It was great to start meeting people in my neighborhood.

On Tuesday I got to help out in Luke’s preschool class while they made a bunch of Christmas crafts.

It was so fun to see him in this environment.

I always wonder how he is at preschool and what he tells his teachers.

I’m sure they have some stories for me.

He had his Preschool Christmas program today.

They sang a bunch of songs and then got to visit with Santa.

Here are some videos for the grandparents.

I asked him what he was going to tell Santa he wanted for Christmas.

He said, I need to think about it.

Ten minutes later, I am going to tell him I want everything.

Oh boy!

I finally got him to settle on asking him for a bike, because that is what he is getting whether he wants it or not.

Last night we took the kids to drive through the holiday lights at Thanksgiving point.

Luke didn’t want to go at first because he was watching Tom and Jerry.

After we saw the lights we asked him if he was glad he came instead of watching TV.

He said it was a little better than Tom and Jerry.

This kid cracks me up.

They also had a couple reindeer there to visit and we grabbed some yummy hot chocolate.

It was pretty cool though because when we got up to the booth to pay to see the lights, the attendant said the car in front of us paid for our car already.

We were able to then pay it forward to the car behind us.

My hope is that it continued on down the line.

I had a Dr. appointment yesterday with the chiropractor who is treating my bell’s palsy.

He said I had regressed a little lately and he thinks it is due to the cold weather.

Ugh.

I guess I am going to start wearing a scarf every where I go to cover my face.

I am SO ready for this to heal.

Tonight we made luminaries to put on the graves come Christmas Eve.

It is always a nice traditions to put candles on the graves, but I thought luminaries would be a fun touch this year.

Luke even got involved and made one just for Ruby.

Our elf has also been getting into a little trouble this year.

Although, I don’t think he is really helping Luke behave like I was hoping.

He got a warning letter the other day from Toots that he saw that he wasn’t listening and he kept interrupting.

He didn’t seem phased by it.

Maybe next year.

We have another holiday party this weekend and then Christmas is right around the corner.

I can’t believe it will be here in less than a week.

And I will leave you with a picture of the cutest cheeks ever.

  3. Luke is so smart. I want everything too Luke. Ryan didn't know what he wanted and he ended up wanting exactly what I wanted. :) I wonder how long that will last. I love all your christmas festivities! Your sister's party looked amazing and so fun.
