Bedtime Ritual

I love Luke's new bedtime ritual. When it's time to go to bed, we'll go into his room, turn on his lullaby music and the humidifier and turn out the light. Then, Luke and I will sit in the rocking chair and Luke will put his head on my shoulder while I rock him. After about five minutes of rocking, Luke will lift up his head, look at me and say, "Dadda." I'll say, "yes Luke." Then he'll point to his crib and say, "ah." I'll ask, "do you want to get in your crib?" He'll nod his head and say, "uh huh." So, that's when I pick him up and lay him down in his crib. He'll usually grab his blanky and roll over on his side to go to sleep.

So funny and so easy. I love it. I look forward to putting him to bed every night. I get a kick out of him every time he lifts up his head from my shoulder and starts into his routine. I hope he keeps this ritual for a long, long time.
