Jared has a deep love for Pleasant Grove strawberry days.
He calls it the most wonderful time of the year.
Last year we missed it because we were in Vegas and he was broken-hearted.
This year it was all that he could have wanted and more.
We started out our celebration by attending the rodeo on Friday night.
Jared’s family plus my parents came too.
It was quite the gathering as usual.
We made sure to eat the yummy rodeo hamburgers followed by strawberries and cream.
Luke was so excited to dress like a cowboy that we had to go to the “cowboy store” and find him a hat and belt.
The whole night was spent by him taking off his hat, bowing, and saying howdy partner.

{Luke & Papa}
{I really did have a great time even though I can’t smile #bellspalsy #iwearmysunglassesatnight}
The next morning we attended the parade where Luke sat with the big kids, waved to the princesses, and gathered candy.

The weather was perfect both at the rodeo and the parade, it really was the perfect weekend for Strawberry days.
After the parade we met up with Jared’s family for lunch at Costa Vida then headed to the carnival.
We treated Luke to the rides and he loved every minute of it.
We are taking Luke to Lagoon at the end of this week so I am sure he will have a blast there he’s pretty fearless.
Last week I took Luke to Lowes Extreme Sports to let him burn off some energy.
I’m trying to cross off some summer bucket list items before baby arrives.
Since I still can’t close my right eye, anything water related is out so we are trying to do other summer activities.
I think a lot of people had the same idea because it was a madhouse, but Luke is never phased by that.
Last night we took Luke to an Orem Owls baseball game for family night.
His interest lasted about 15 minutes pretty much when his treats ran out, but it was still a nice night to be outside.
Jared also gave Luke a much needed haircut. He buzzed the whole thing. It is nice not have to worry about combing this mess every morning:
Luke is also taking a music/rhythm/dance class right now and he is loving it. He is at the perfect age for classes like this.
I, on the other hand, have a hard time getting up and down and running and playing with him in class, but I just hope it sends me into labor one of these days.
2 & 1/2 more weeks until baby’s due date and I am more than ready.
However, I do want this Bell’s Palsy to go away before he gets here so it is just a waiting game to see what happens first.
Tomorrow is my last day at work so it feels like we are finally on the countdown.
I think it might be time to start putting together my hospital bag.
Anyone want to make their prediction about when he will arrive and how much he will weigh?
Luke was right on his due date and weighed 7 lbs, 20 inches long.
Remember, I feel and look heavier than ever.
Quoting The Santa Clause:
“So what? You put on a little weight.
Weight? Does this look like a little weight to you?
Weight can fluctuate from year to year.
Fluctuate? You make it sound like I'm retaining water. I've gained 45 pounds in a week.”
Also friends who drop off Nothing Bundt cakes aren’t helping with the weight gain situation.
I guess 7 lbs 9 oz and 21". I can't believe you only have 2 weeks left. I hope it goes by super quick for you. I can't wait to see this little baby boy! Our boys (and Jared) also got haircuts this week. Is there anything better than a buzzcut in summer? I just want to kiss their heads over and over. I bet Luke looks adorable. He looks adorable in anything.
