Disney Adventures

I have been lost from blogland for a little while. We were on vacation for a week and then it takes me a couple days to get back into the swing of my normal routine.

But never fear, I am back.

When Luke was about 5 months old I had a brilliant idea to take him to Disneyland for his first birthday. (I even put it on my goal list)

I didn’t care that he wouldn’t remember one thing about this little trip.

Nor did I care that he was at the age where he wasn’t into any Disney Characters (I am sure that day will come).

And I certainly didn’t care that he could care less about riding any rides and would probably get  restless waiting around to ride them.

So off we went.

I even talked my parents and my sister, her husband and little 3 month old London into coming. They are always up for a Disney trip.

We had such a great time and Luke kept us entertained the whole time.

Memorable moments:

Luke being expression-less on every single ride because he was trying to take it all in.

Eating the Monte Cristo sandwich (heaven in my mouth)

Luke throwing out his bottle from underneath the blanket while in the stroller to get our attention (happened several times)

Riding Tower of Terror for the first time

Luke peaking out of the blanket while in the stroller when he was supposed to be taking a nap.

Getting drenched on Splash Mountain

Luke sleeping on my chest all night while I laid there in sweat because he wouldn’t sleep in his crib.

World of Color

Running into a old friend from San Diego

Luke LOVING the hot tub at the hotel

Meeting all the characters (they came up to Luke and London all the time)

Being exhausted and hitting the sack by 8:00pm every night

Feeling like we were going to get tossed out of our seat on the ladybug ride

Frozen bananas, corn dogs, bread bowls, and yummy yummy food

And enjoying a vacation with my family (it has been a long time since vacationing with my parents)

Hold tight for a lot of pictures:

It turned out to be a great trip, even though I really don’t comprehend how people travel with more than one child. Luke had us completely wiped out just after those 2 plane rides!

Stayed tuned for Luke’s Mickey themed Birthday Party, it’s this Sunday!

  4. WhooHooo!!! I'm SO excited after seeing your pictures! I think we've been 4 or 5 times now and with kids of all different ages. This year will be interesting with *5* of them! Hopefully everyone is healthy and the weather is nice like it was for you. The countdown is on at our house....5 days!!! Luke is adorable in those pictures. Talk to you Sunday.

  5. It is crazy with 3 kids, as we learned a month ago! But worth every moment!
I was so excited about the tower of terror ride too, I made Sophia (my 5 year old) go on it with me, so Dave could stay with the boys. Sophia cried the whole time...it was pretty scary! I felt like the worst mom in the world...hopefully one day she'll forgive me! :)

  6. Love that you did it!!! We've talked a lot about going to Disney Land with Lincoln, and I think he's a great age for it too, we just need to actually do it!!! Looks like he had a lot of fun, and will probably remember bits of it for a little while. Babies/ kids surprise me all of the time with their memory! Hope everything goes well for the party!

  7. We were just there a couple of weeks ago too! I wonder if we were there at the same time. We love Disneyland, especially at Christmas. That's a great shot you got of the big tree.
